MGF - Cheers folks, nearly there.

FJ ask you about track days and so on and seem to regard them as evil. They then go on to sponsor various events, all whilst you are insured by someone else then?

It's all stupid. I would not even bother mentioning about any events.

Insured, taxed and collect.

My uncle is a happy chappy.

Big thanks to Ken for all his patience and help.

Mate of mine is looking at going down the MGF route.

Advised on Footman James, but just wondered who your uncle went with?

Cheers

PBIS, FJ, the usual suspects will insure them without hassle (so far). They prefer it if you sign up with a club of some kind too. These cars will never be as cheap as they are now, the values will start to climb so grab one while you can.

One insurer said that they would need to be informed of the car had been used on a track day as that then effects the car in some way.

This makes no sense. Not only from a "how would you know what the previous owner did with the car", but also that when the car is being used at a track day, it's just not covered by your road policy and if you want to cover it you need to get track days cover.

I really don't see how an insurer can stipulate what happens to the vehicle when it's not on risk with them.

^^ Agreed, how the feck would you know if it has or hasn't. Unless you modified it hugely obviously. Madness.
