anyone got any tips for rejuvenating the grey plastic bumpers? And anyone got a rear spoiler going spare?

Try some Johnsons baby oil on the bumpers.

I do quite fancy one of those to replace the Mazda if/when it dies.

Are we talking about the same sort of 'bumpers'??

Peanut Butter on the bumpers.Seriously. Would I lie to you?

Good work there! I had one a few years ago to replace a Cav and I loved its revvy engine. :D

Boiled linseed oil for the bumpers, tried it myself recently and was most impressed, there was a post on Retro-Rides about this subject.Boiled Linseed Oil cost me about £3 or £4 from B&Q and is easy to apply and lasts well-easier than peanut butter and hot-air gun.I'd recomend ear wax to buff that dashboard though and may be a bit of man-wax for the paintwork

That has a nice "left-alone" air about it - the number plates and wheeltrims are presumably original.I've seen a lot of those Rover 200s over the years that have been despoilered for some reason

Looks a good buy. Mum and stepdad had a G-reg one some years ago, engine gives circa 120bhp I seem to recall? Nice car, but I thought it a bit undergeared.

Morrisons 79p black shoe polish (in a grey bottle with a built-in foam applicator) works well on bumpers for me!

Aweschome! Same interior colour scheme as mine. :D I've heard baby oil is the best, but never used it myself.

I arranged to pick up a Rover from Gumtree which was on with a vague discription and I was expecting it to be the same shape as this one in the photos. On collection it turned out to be the later shape but still with the Honda lump in it, I didn't realise these were about.

Only later 400s (45/Civic shape) with the Honda lump would be the 1600 auto I think. Pretty sure the "bubble" later 200s never came with a Honda engine.
