Almost certain it is. A mate built himself one about five years ago. It uses Mk2 XR2 bits I do believe.

Mate of mine built a quantum using his 1.6 D Mk2 fiesta as the base car. He kept the Diesel Engine too !

A couple of stragglers before my main update...

Spotted a women getting out this at the Nationals the other week, I loved the taped light and badly painted wing.

Posted Image

This convey was heading home from the Nationals down the A14 on the bank holiday Monday.

This Zodiac was even towing a shite caravan.

Right main update time, Just got back from my holiday in North Wales, Had a great time, Nice weather and very much enjoyed the cheap beer and food you guys up north have! (Carlsberg £1.69 a pint! )

Anyway Wales seems to be full of old cars but every time i see something decent it's on the wrong side of the road or i couldn't get a decent picture of it, so these are my best shots.

Pinto powered 105E Sprinting up the M56.

Fantastically shite looking Scirocco spotted whist i was getting diesel.

Took a trip to Chester one day to see if the girls really do look like the one's in Hollyoaks, I was a bit dispointed until i saw this under the clock in the high street.

I think it's fair to say that this was something quite special, Even had a carpeted dash, but it did turn a lot of heads.

Here's a better looking Honda outside the Cathedral.

Posted Image

This Fiat was in Betws Y Clod, foreign plate and class wheel arch repair ftw!.

Posted Image

Poor shot but not seen one of these for a long while, 4 Door Granada 2.5 Diesel.

Posted Image

I thought this was dumped as it was rotten, Had moss under it and no tax in the screen which is why i photoed it but it turned out it's taxed according to the DVLA.

Posted Image

This Twingo had made it up to the Pen Y Pass car park half way up Snowdon, Good effort i say.

Posted Image

Not shite but it was bloody nice, was in the car park to our caravan park at Talacre beach.

Posted Image

I passed this a few times in Prestatyn, It was up for sale at the begining of the week but the signs were gone by today.

Posted Image

I saw these Mini's at Corley Services this afternoon on the M6, Passed them again on the A14.

Posted Image

Posted Image

This stop on the M6 was a highlight on the trip home due to this spot, One of my all time favorite american trucks, the 56' Ford F-100, So thank you Mrs. Trigger for being sick.

Posted Image

Posted Image

This was also great, it was lowered and sounded like it had a motorbike exhaust when i roared off to the M6! (I love Corley Services!).

I know what you mean, There was a lot of newish cars all less then 3 years old about but the older stuff i saw was always really old and shit, like a old couple on there 70's driving a tatty green Super Minx though Prestatyn (Forgot my camera, Grrr) and lots of old camper vans like Mk 1 Transits, 70's Toyota Hiace's and of course VW's.

That Accord Aerodeck is something else!I guess the American tat can be justified, since they were built in Ohio.

The funniest bit of it was the tacky stick-on 3.2 V6 badge on the back, It's a 2.2!I couldn't really understand the American style Irish plates neither.

Oh i forgot to post these, There was a small car meet outside the National Slade Museum at Padarn County Park in Llanberis we stumbled upon too, It had the perfect surrounds.

This is a 1929 Tracta Type D, Quite a rare French car it would seem.

This was really nice, 2000 in Brown.

These Estates seems so much better looking then the saloons IMHO.

Perfect for cruising up and down the Mountians whist taking in the views.

It's weird that, I always thought Llanberis would make a top rally stage or a great place to have a classic car show.On the subject of Quantums and GTMs, there's a bloke with a drive full of them as you drive into Lancaster on the A6, just before the railway bridge two minutes off J33 of the M6.Because of what happened in Lancaster I haven't been back there for a wee while, but I just thought I'd let you know about the potential shiteage there.

Ah, that'll be Max. It is a very, very cool van with a very, very loud stereo too! S'pose it needs to be with that exhaust...

Hey, you can see my -MASSIVE COCK- in the far left of the photo above the wall!

I love North Wales, I have the fortune of living right next to it. :)

Wow!, I've seen your COCK!, I may of also touched it!.

Jeesus, that Tracta! Very cool. Funny livery on the Citroën, ANWB Wegenwacht is the Dutch RAC.

Funny really as the bottom coast road from such delighful places as Connahs Quay to and beyond 'sunny' Rhyl used to be ram full of proper quality shite like decaying od Farinas, Maxis, Cortinas Marinas and more for lightyears. In fact if you had ventured down there fifteen years or so ago you'd have been guaranteed to have had a spotters delight every 1/2 mile or so.It was about the only reason you'd have wanted to go that way though, I'm sorry but most of the area is a fucking shithole and I'm no fan of the place.Over on the right side of the border(!) Chester does have some quality flange incidentally, and as I spent a fair bit of last night eyeing it up after several beverages I have to say I was very happy with the eye candy on offer.

Thats my Van!!

I saw you taking the photos, Just had myself a burger king and i was ready to roll.

People love the car around the west side. Not much love in the east however.

Its what they used back in the day

Ah cool! I wooped with delight when i saw i had parked next to it! I thought i'd got away without being spotted!I saw you drive pass me as you was leaving, the exhaust note made me laugh, very cool van!

I guess I'm too young to remember the Citroëns... in my time it was/is almost all VWs.

Exaust needs to be louder. Going for twin pipes next i think. Ive had it before and it was ridiculously loud. but worth it. Sounds like im going at 100mph but actually 20mph.

Yeh the 400 was the van of choice for the ANWB back in the day. Recently drove through holland on the way home from czech and they were loving it.

Theres only a 2 or 3 originals left in holland. Mines not an original but people think it is. Then they see the door logo.

Chester does have its fair share of decent girls however it's not the best place to pull. Liverpool was always a happier hunting ground for me :D

Only a coupe of spots today both good i hope.

Spotted this Renault 15/17 hiding behind a big fence in South Hanningfield this afternoon, there was a coupe of other cars that looked like they had been there a long time as well behind it, Couldn't get a better look as it's on the main road and i couldn't stop.

Posted Image

Then this afternoon i was driving to my dad's through a very quite village near Colchester when i stumbled across this.

It is/was a 2008 Ford F250 Harley Davidson Limo that got set alight at 3am this morning, After some detective work it turns out it's from a limo company in Chelmsford, It must of been worth £1000's, Poor bugger who owns it will be gutted.

The before photos are here. http://www.aalimos-chelmsford.co.uk/harley_davidson.php

I do feel slightly sorry for the chap, but I can't say that these images didn't make me smile! When I sort out a new Rotes Armee Fraction group this will be a more common sight.

Posted

I must say i hate limo's as they are so tacky and chavy but it is another chaps livelihood there i guess, I bet his insurance company will love him though!, Must be worth £100k at least.I can't believe they got it that far down the road, It's the most narrow, bendy country lane about and they must of done 2 miles down it before dumping it really in the middle of nowhere.

Posted

I wonder what's behind that limo fire? Surely you'd have an alarm/immobiliser? Or an insurance job :shock::wink:

It did cross my mind, Maybe trade is a bit quiet and he needs to down size his fleet?...
