Bought this yesterday.

It's one of those cars that I've always fancied trying, and so far I'm quite impressed. It's a 2-litre auto, so it's not the fastest thing on the road (the Magentis would leave it for dead) but it goes OK and it's really quite nice to drive - it feels planted on the road and corners surprisingly well for its size. Brilliant motorway cruiser, although it's got crappy directional tyres on it at the moment which kick up a bit of a fuss on poor tarmac.

Fortunately though it's got this to drown the tyre roar out:

It's a Blaupunkt flip-front CD player thingy with built-in satnav, and would have been the dog's bo11ox when it was new. It still sounds pretty good now, and is linked to a 6-disc changer in the boot.

Interior is pleasant, if a little bland:

It's comfortable enough, although the front of the seat cushion won't raise up high enough for my tastes, and obviously it's very well put together - I reckon the Kia's interior is just as well screwed together but the materials that the Nissan's is screwed together out of are better quality, if that makes sense.

It's got 8 1/2 months' tax on it, which is nice (and unusual for an eBay purchase), so unless it disgraces itself I can see it staying in the fleet for a while, although it won't be the daily as it's a bit thirsty for that - V6's are great for the soundtrack but not so good for fuel consumption. It's done 113K and has been well maintained so should have plenty of life left in it yet. Overall I'm pretty pleased with my purchase. :)

Nice one! Looks like it should be a trusty addition.

Bah, I guess that you've demonstrated (again!) the best way of getting a cheap V6, while I haven't...

What is it exactly?A Maxima? It's so totally bland that I don't think I've ever noticed one Zzz... befor.......Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I dunno, I think it's a Nissan of some kind...It's not the most flamboyant car I've ever owned, is it? I kind of like its slightly, understated looks though - although I have to say I've never been a big fan of the back end styling on these.

They do look a bit frumpy, but a quite obscure and likeable car anyway. How do they compare to a Primera? Is the sat-nav period then? Seems a bit advanced for 95/96

if I'm not mistaken it's a QX and I'd totally forgotten the existedI used to work for a company that refurbished 6 to 12 month old hire cars and we were based at on old aircraft hanger up at Burtonwood.I had to manage the cars after repair and they were all parked in rows, the length of the runway out the back, I always grabbed one of these to plough up and down the runway to check the lads were putting ut cars repaired properly...unless a T5 came in but that was a rare occasion...Love them...going to have to keep my eye out for one now

Wasn't that Nissans response to the Peugeot 605?

Whats the fuel consumption like on these then?2.0L suggests reasonable running costs but V6 doesn't?

I had one of these a few years ago (badged CEFIRO), a 2.5 litre. One of the best cars I have had, and it went very well !

Is that the Japanese name for them? There are loads in Taiwan

Feels completely different to a Primera - much heavier and more substantial, and it doesn't have the same feeling of agility that a Primera has, although you can actually sling it into corners quite well. Turning circle is also smaller than a P11's, despite the car being a lot larger. The stereo, as far as I can determine from the handbook, is a 1999 model - so still pretty advanced in its day.

Yup. So it's somewhere in the middle. Uses more than the Camry but less than the Kia. I reckon I got about 33mpg on the run back from Cambridge, which is more or less what I expected really.

Not too shabby really then :)

That sat-nav is a few models up from the Blaupunkt CD/MP3 head unit I bought in 2000, I remember seeing that one also on display in Halfords. It was about £350-£400 back then though!

So what's the benefit of it being a 2.0 V6 as opposed to just a 2.0, does it make it a lot faster, or just give it a better noise?

Right Wuvvum, that's it - there's just no room in here for two private hire cab companies. I propose a duel! And the back end is the nicest feature of these cars, I love it. Nice work!
