Festive fettling and fiddling animus

Started tidying up the back end of my 2cv, when I had the rear sweeps done I had to get paint on asap, I've got time now so I'm undoing the bad and attempting to correct it.

Also, the p38 is booked with my friendly mechanic to have the front airbags replaced.

All I have to do to the Thumper wagon is new front springs and shocks. Happening on Friday.

I very rarely have much to add to the tinkering and mending threads, as it seems I have an extremely reliable and non rotten twenty nine year old van. In the last 3 years it's only needed a clutch and accelerator cable and a gearbox.

Oh well, back to the non fettling and fiddling then.

It's going worryingly well so far! The euro car parts online order discs and pads were correct for the Zafira, so that's done! Just having a coffee then onto the laguna, so there's room for it going wrong yet!

You will be fine, i had a miracle on Wednesday when i fixed all the stuff on the Reliant without breaking something else.

Yep, all parts fitted! Slight annoyance with the gooner when I pulled the handbrake cable from the adjuster under the cubby hole, que 45 minutes undoing it 1/4 a turn at a time to put the cable on, then doing it up 1/4 a turn at a time to make it tight... Has taken a bit of slop out though so not all bad. Will update the relevant threads tomorrow, cba now!

Was supposed to be pottering around in my new (to me) Caterham. But that's been delayed so it's a battery change on the Volvo and maybe tinkering with my brother's Vitesse

Forgot to top my brake fluid up when done and went out last night. The stop light and handbrake/brake warning lights flickered when cornering/braking... Luckily it was just low not empty... Topped it up just now. Brakes alot better now though with all 4 corners bled

I'm working the night shift all the way through to Friday morning, but if the weather remains settled, I may have a go at sticking on The Volvo's new number plates and attempt to cut the [superfluous] heat shield off the car's exhaust front pipe, which has broken up and is rattling like crazy.

Well, as I suspected might be the case, I had some time on the Oxford today, fitted the rear lights all back in place for a proper test fit of everything and also finished all the front end wiring except for indicators which are yet to be completely decided on.  I had to add various bullets, run wiring across the slam panel and then made up new headlight looms both sides, oh and the horn wires too.  So fo the first time in ten years or more it has (almost) fully function lighting

Is that Series 2 rear lamps grafted in? Looks very Daimler Dart-esque, and not in a bad way.

Now family duties are over I need to get cracking on the more immediate jobs requiring my attention.

C3 Pluriel

Relieve it of it’s powertrain and other useful parts that can be eBayed.

Bridge the remainder

Peugeot 207

Replace blown engine and noisy gearbox, with items removed from fragged Pluriel.

Project Kallista will also make an appearance for a service and to get power steering conundrum solved.
