I've been lurking around for a year or so and occasionally posting but only collected VWs so didn't bother posting these. However I am on a mission today to rescue an altogether different beast.
Its dusty, it's rusty and inside it is somewhat musty. It's what these days seems to be called a 'barn find' although unusually it was actually found in a barn where it's been gathering dust for at least 10 years according the son of the owner...oh and it's certainly a rare find in this manor...

Ready to go, I got my trailer

Jesus it's cold. Its the middle of the day and it's -7, I hope the roads wont be too slippy on the return journey.

A rare find for Autoshite, or for the Black Forest?

well for Germany it's deffo a rarity, for Autoshite there are one or two about I believe. Not that they're really valuable or owt, I just never seen one round these parts.

Anyway just stopped for brew. The story so far, roads a bit iffy in the hill with freezing fog at first

Just hope it's not snowing too hard back home, not sure I'll make it up this hills pulling this.

Good luck!

Looks pretty tidy actually. I’ve only ever seen one Moggie in Germany, and that was a shiny Traveller in Heidelberg.

For fixing up or just selling on?

Made it back thank goodness. Icy roads but then had a right struggle reversing the trailer up the hill and into the yard which is also on a hill. Strong burning clutch smell from the missuses car after all the rocking to and fro trying to get it in <ooer missus>. Well at least I know who's going to have to change it if I've knackered it.

Anyway well relieved to get back. Here are a few just got home pics

Well I'm going to enjoy a well deserved beer now. I thankfully have tomorrow off so will get chance to post some daylight pics.

A Minor would usually be minus eleventy points on here, but points won back for location, and snow. It also looks a bit shitty, so WIN!

Thanks! Bit of a blunder with car type, point noted. I'll just post a couple of daylight pics and leave it at that.

Cheers mate. Well I didn't really have any plan for it I just didn't want to see it rotting away so had to take action. The missus has taken a proper shine to it though so a full resto is on the cards.

FIxing up i can do, I just haven't really got the hang of this selling on thing...

Right hooker..... ?

Yes it is, although the car is so narrow compared to my modern (well up to '98) cars it doesn't feel quite so 'side biased'

I'm ashamed to say I actually quite like moggys. Does that make me a bad person?

Collection Addendum: Had a right palava getting the car to where it will stand until it's turn cometh. The problem is the area I had in mind is a bit of the way down a long snow covered hill...a further hindrance being the engine doesn't run and the real fly in the ointment being the car has no brakes either. Still it does steer so mustn't grumble.

I decided to abseil the car down the hill with the missus inside steering it.

Ready to roll

Partially restored Landy to the rescue for the rest of way

I will add some photos of the car itself to finish up but the internet is well flaky tonight so it might have to wait.

A lesson there for us all on winter preparedness. In the UK we would be advised venturing out and to stay in doors, let alone go out in a two wheel drive car and trailer to fetch an old car and drag it back, reversing up a hill.

I doth my cap to you sir.
