cms' solution to broken cars; Buy ALL the cars.

It's worked in the past!

This is fleet reduction in action. 3 cars out, 2 in!

I aim to be there on Friday afternoon and will be bringing my usual paraffin based cooking and lighting equipment (now with added bigger stove!).

I plan to stop off at Dundee for supplies/bus perving, meet up there?

Oh don't say Dundee, I'm going there Monday to drop a vacuum off and see a fellow collector, but if we are briefly stopping there I can blez past his, chuck him the vac and say see you Monday...

Could do. I'll be doing a fuel / rest stop at the Shell garage on the corner of Kingsway / Forfar Road. ETA 1245.

MO snapped its speedometer cable. New one ordered. Just got to make a gasket for the petrol cap but otherwise ready to rally. Is there a prize for longest journey time?

How long will a fuel stop take? That's 1.4 miles from where I need to go... If I go infront and shoot off, I could nip in and drop vacuum off, then see you at the Shell?

I think I shall be ready for it! Goggle maps sez ~6 hours journey using motorways, which I am avoiding. Therefore, I have doubled the time as a conservative estimate. Plan to arrive late on Friday.

I'm planning on a really early start on Friday morning to get there mid afternoon.

Not 100% certain though as I'm hoping to drop a dog off in Preston on the way up.

Dunno. Tradition dictates we stop somewhere so I suspect I'll be there for 5 - 10 minutes. If you overtake the convoy when we get to Perth then I suspect you will be able to get back to the Shell to meet us. The only nuisance about that petrol station is that it is only accessible if you coming from Perth or Aberdeen. Where in Dundee are you dropping it off?

Car repaired (see grump thread) now mostly loaded so I'm almost ready :)

IIRC, there's a Morrisons or something not far from the staton at Dundee so I'll stock up on supplies/everything I've forgotten to bring there and meet you at the shell.

Both our little lads are coming down (we think) with chicken pox so I'm going to have to stay home and help out. OBV glad to do it but I'm gutted that my purposefully taken Friday day off won't be spend on the road trip to chez saabnut.

The Morrison's at Caird Park is just north of the Shell garage I plan to use

Just as the mighty Dacia collection dust settles, which provides a week of genuinely gripping reading, a new event commences that will hopefully provide new forms of entertainment.

That's the one! It's been a while since I was in that neck of the woods. I think the Morrisons by a station I was thinking about is at Fort William (don't ask).

I've lost track, who else is planning to get there for friday night?

I'll be setting off Friday lunchtime, so *should* arrive Friday night! Probably around 8, but I'm just going to have a leisurely drive up and not worry about journey time.
