Not heard of a Shitefest roffle?! The very person you're talking to ended up with a Lada through one at a Shitefest you were at, and A framed it home!

Ruffgeezer also roffled a box of tat at last year's SF.

Technically I won the Lada and then A-Framed my Cortina home using the Lada. That was an interesting journey!

Blimey shitefest is rapidly becoming second to hoovers for me!

Picking up an Electrolux Glider for someone which is 10 miles from me, he lives in dundee which I need to drive past! So I may (if I'm allowed), stay Sunday night and leave after breakfast Monday, go to Dundee and see him for a few hours (managed to sell him a cleaner I have too, which is nice), then down to Doncaster to drop Hooli's 04 off at his neighbors, then to my granny's for probably tea time, kip there and stay for Tuesday morning and home Tuesday afternoon!

Mr Saab, would you have dry storage space for me to park:

2 Dyson DC04's

1 Electrolux 2000

1 Electrolux Dolphin

1 Electrolux Glider

So I have space to sleep in my car?

No problem at all sir, plenty* of space in the shed, as I have the Bentley out for the summer.

With less than 2 weeks to go before the descending of the hordes, I thought I had better pull my finger out and get things ready. As said previously, my friend the plumber recommisioned the Port Cludgy and got the hot and cold water running again. Apart from his visit a couple of weeks ago, it has basically been shut up for 6 years, apart from throwing the occasional junk in for "storage", so today I have spent the afternoon and evening clearing the really useful items junk stored in there and given it a clean. Whilst it is still unfit for human habitation, it will do for you lot!

I'm now prepared.

I have a tent, a sleeping bag, a sleeping mat, an LED camping lantern, and a power bank with a solar panel on the side of it, so I can even keep my phone charged!

Just need to get some booze.

Surely this should have been top of the list? ??

No, last. Buy it cold and local!

Mr Saab, where is the nearest supermarket to you? Which town etc?

Don't buy it here, will cost a fortune. The mental snp have put prices up. The 8 pack of wee beers i get in Aldi was £3.20 is now £5. I got some in Berwick last weekend, did a booze run.

Oh gosh your right, I heard about that on the news the other day!

Max - we need to buy beer in England! Any Scots want a slab of cheaper beer?

Will we get stopped at the border for contraband?

Nope but if your coming up the A1 you can stop and have a square sausage roll. The wee greasy van there is class.

Only the cheapest of beers will be cheaper. Normal stuff will be the same price.

Aye, can't say I've noticed any difference in price.

I drink wanky craft cider, though. The sort of stuff that sells at £1.50 - £2 per bottle anyway.

Nearest supermarkets: Crappy Co-Ops in Laurencekirk (6 miles) or Stonehaven (10 miles). Proper Supermarkets Aldi, Lidl and Tesco Montrose (16 miles) or Asda Portlethen (18 miles)

Will probably be a slab of fosters/stella or similar, don't think I can stretch to a weekend of craft ales.

Am going home that way, where do I go?

It's right on the border IIRC. Big lay-by with a roll van.

SVM Catering will be in attendance at the fest.

Have any plans been made for activities during the weekend? Scenic drives, scrapyard visits etc?

Bugger driving to rural Aberdeenshire to go visit a scrap yard. Alford Transport Museum may be my goal. Or finally getting to visit the ruins at Dunottar Castle. Failing that I may take my train pass so that someone can drop me off at Laurencekirk train station and I can jump up to Aberdeen and get pished with my old megabus chums if they're available.

Dunotter sounds good to me, and or a scenic drive etc.

The Grampian Transport Museum at Alford appear to be doing a military vehicle thing on the Saturday.

Scenic drives start at my place! Plenty of good routes available. Alford is just over 35 miles away, and about 1hr 10 mins but a nice run.

Due to work commitments (such as being in actual employment for once) I can't attempt to follow the rest of the SVM and will need directions to Cassa Del Saabnut please.

Surely we need to set up a welcoming party for Dollywobbler and Catsinthewelder!

In other news..... I am definitely too nice to you lot! Here is an offer for anyone who does not have/fancy putting up a tent and/or does not fancy sleeping in their car.

Available for hire is the following Luxury* Holidayhome* Accommodation. When I had my house rebuilt about 6 years ago, I bought an old 2 berth touring caravan to live in whilst work was undertaken. I expected it to be for 4 to 6 weeks, but due to faults found in the house, it ended up being for 14 months, including a full NE Scotland winter! As a direct result of this, the mojo for using it again has been absent, so it has become another store.

Today I decided to investigate and removed more carefully selected and valuable items junk and evicted any mice that may have decided to utilise it and as a result if anyone attending Shitefest would like to utilise it, they are welcome. It is not quite level (never did get around to sorting that) but it is clean and I believe rodent free. Sleeps 2 max. First come first served, let me know if you want to "book" it in advance or first to sling a sleeping bag in at the weekend gets it!

A couple of photos, it is better inside than out!

Any old military bases or abandoned stuff up that way we could explore?
