V55/5 form needed

Does anyone have one lying around that they could pop in the post? I’ll send beer in the opposite direction.

 

I’m in a hurry to register a Wartburg 353, but I’ve just discovered that my museum of forms requires restocking. V55/5s are no longer available from Post Offices and the DVLA’s form-posting service takes between seven and an infinite number of days. Rubbish country.

Nyet, sadly. The V55/5 is a posh double-layer carbon paper sort of a do, so it's not downloadable.

Apparently you need the 8/16 version too, not previous ones.

Good lord. I've never waited less than seven and have a success rate of less than 50%. Maybe I'm on a special list?

Can't you fill out 2 printed forms identically then pritt stick the tops together? Maybe even print one on white and one on green, and use a lighter shade of pencil for the 'underneath' one

A crisp V55/5 has just arrived from the DVLA... a mere five days.

 

Could the DVLA be entering a golden age of bureaucratic efficiency?

It sure seems that way, V5's seem to always arrive within a week nowadays, sometimes in a couple of days.
