Ooh... erm... letsee... you were after the pair of Corgi Metros, the Corgi caravan and the Matchbox Superkings caravan, yes? Was there anything else I've missed from the thread that you were after?

Total for those four is... eh... £7.50 all in would do it.

actually would £10 total be enough to add the poo brown royce rolls?

^^^ I imagine I could see my way clear to include the Corniche and render the sale a nice crisp tenner... added to your box, sir!

EDIT EDIT: It is a bloody Corniche after all. Derrr.

You'll be fine in Dublin.Just don't hang around too long in Ballymun.Or Finglas.Or Tallaght.Or a few other places.

Heh, Dublin itself doesn't worry me... it's the M1 down that's my concern, as it's a stretch of road with which I have history...

Leaving shortly!

Mornings.

Could you set aside a cardboard box and fill it with some yank tanks, pick up trucks, series land rovers, not too fussed about scales or brands, oh and that mini/ caravan combo. Maybe chuck in a couple of other randoms.

Budget of about £40-50.

Thanks muchly.

^^^ Y'know what - challenge accepted!

Not long back from Dublin, fairly knackered after a nigh-on 300 mile round trip on top of a badger's-arse-rough week.

The good news is I got the cruise control working, which helped a lot. The air con, however, became progressively warmer as the trip wore on, so a service/regas is very likely on the cards.

Tomorrow's gonna be a packing and sorting day for diecast, I think...

Right, the time may have arrived to temporarily call "Whoa, neddy!" on the diecast sales threads, for a very very short time.

And there is a reason.

A few members have approached me with the intriguing proposal that I make them up a 'lucky bag', comprising a surprise assortment of models of preferred scales and/or vehicle types and/or manufacturer, to a pre-agreed value.

I had never considered floating such an idea - although as a child, my absolute favourite thing in the world was being gifted a box of some older cousin's toy cars, and then digging through it with mounting excitement - but, according to Mrs DC, 'mystery yarn boxes' are very much a hot commodity in the crafter community, so it shows you what the hell I know.

I'm keen to provide some high-quality gear to those who have placed their trust (and their hard-earned cash) in my hot little hands, so for that reason I don't want someone else to come along and gaily request an item (or items) that are making up an embryonic lucky bag. It may become messy/stressful for all parties.

So!

With that in mind, I'm going to stamp a big 'END OF PART ONE' on the diecast sales right now and the plan is:

  1. Gather together and confirm all orders placed up to and including last night;
  2. Parcel up models selected to all those currently paid up;
  3. Get the paid-for models in the post tomorrow morning (registered post, for those with high-value boxes);
  4. Issue friendly PMs to all those who have asked for models to be reserved, asking whether they wish to go ahead with payment and dispatch right now, or wait for a bit;
  5. See what's left in the crates; photograph them all properly (no more multiple pics) and set up DATSUNCOG'S DIECAST CLEARANCE PT2 - DAY OF THE DIECAST (or something), with all fresh posts on the thread from this point on.

So I'd be thoroughly grateful if everyone could consider all the models set out on the previous set of posts as potentially sold, even if they don't yet have a 'sold' sign on the post. I'll be back on in a day or two with a new, invigorated list of models up for grabs, possibly even with new, invigorated prices and bulk-buy deals for those which have attracted less interest than others.

Of course, if there's anything you've spotted that you're desperate for, please PM me and I'll do my darndest to accommodate.

But here's a line:

_______________

Everything above this line is potentially taken. Everything that is posted below this line, in the next day or two, is up for grabsies.

As a particular well-known historical personage once said, "this is not the beginning of the end - but it is the end of the beginning."

I doubt he was referring to diecast sales, but hey, it's always a possibility.

Thanks to all for their purchases so far, and with any luck there should be some parcels of high quality minishite dropping through some letterboxes in the immediate future.

It does indeed. This is what makes this an extra-special sooper bargaintastic sale, as I won't know until I get to the Post Office window whether or not I'm going to come away with a small profit at the end of it, or wind up getting absolutely reamed because I put an extra layer of bubblewrap on, and now it has to go via Parcelforce.

I clearly lack excitement elsewhere in my life.

So yeah. That's £10 including post, in the case of your five 80s Corgis and Matchbox.

Thanking you!

Flying Customs are indeed still available - as are the other Hot Wheels bits and bobs.

I'll set the packaged FCs aside for you now, and when I come to listing Part 2 I'll post up some better pics of the rest, just in case there's anything else in there you fancy?

Postal order or cash (either sterling or Euros) will do nicely; I'm up and down a fair bit so always find Euros handy! Whatever works best for your good self.

Still looking for a Golf! Nowhere seems to stock Matchbox up here anymore; Poundland are just selling through old 2016 stock and have hardly anything, while even Tesco seem to only do random film & tv Hot Wheels alongside their crappy own-brand stuff.

Nope, the boat is certainly bobbing at the harbour - but it has not yet sailed.

Kojak can be smuggled aboard for a mere £4 supplement (though I will need to find a bigger postage box!)

Are there going to be any more 1/43 in episode 2?If so I'll wait for the moment for my parcel.

Yup, total price and payment details now in your mailbox, I do believe.

Yes indeed - there will be some 1/43 that have not yet been posted up, ands also better pictures of others!

Happy to keep yours on hold for now (in truth, there's already a lotta posting going on right now!)

Heh.

I like the idea of a £15-20 lucky bag of PSA products / Land Rovers / BMWs

Posted

^^^ I really hadn't considered this before - but then I should have known better on a forum where paying good money to potentially win an unknown car is seen as perfectly normal...

There's a high chance that when Part 2 rolls around, a lucky bag/mystery box option will be open. I am rather keen to clear all these out from the shed ASAFP, so there's certainly the possibility of some high value and high quality models being bundled in.

Or maybe I should stick them all in a plastic trunk and bury it on one of the many uninhabited islands in Strangford Lough, and then roffle the exact location for some lucky* individual to come and collect the lot, by dinghy? Yer honest-to-gawd actual diecast buried treasure?

I shall have a think.

Right now, I'm up to my ears in bubble wrap and sticky tape. And my colleagues are starting to look at me funny.

All those who have paid so far will receive a PM once their order is on its way! I have a stack of boxes packed last night, and a few more still to seal up, and will be tripping round to the Post Office in Howard St imminently.

Stand by!

Posted

If you get a chance between packing can you please let me know my running total? Then I'll decide whether to pay now or wait for a potential lucky dip! No hurry.

Posted

Unless there are any more 1/72 goodies in part 2 I guess it's time to request total from seller. PM me how many pictures of the queen you want and I'll square up for my pile of stuff.

Posted

^^^ I shall do some counting, and then some subtracting, and hopefully present you with a figure we can both be pleased with... I think that's the vast majority of 1/72 presented upthread - though there is a weird Matchbox-scale odds 'n' sods box full of stuff like Welly, Edocar, Maisto and no-name brand strangeness... should you wish to hang on for that?

Will PM you a running total, in any event!

Junkman's recommended maker, albeit in the wrong materials - it's a Norev diecast Beetle.

No, that's cool - VAG shite in general remains on the sidelines, weirdly, so no bother in adding it at this stage,

Norev Dub is now keeping the Oxford cosy in its little box.

If that's all you fancy at the minute, I'll PM you a total!
