Whats the going rate.....

...for a vauxhall viva? A project anyway.

Car seems complete but needs some work - welding to inner sills and boot floor. It will also need paint as somebody has been working on the arches.

Car is N reg.

Ideas?

I would have thought a couple of hundred, max.... bit more if it'll drive up onto the trailer.  How long ago was the last MoT?

Eddie has the right figure for proper times.   However these are now stupid times and I would expect more like £700.

MOT exempt soon, innit.....

I'd say that's about half of reality.

Edit: the above was written before I saw the eBay ad Neil1971 posted.

I'd say the price is about right really.  Sure, it's not a bargain as such, but that interior is excellent and even the body is presentable.  He admits it'll need some welding underneath but otherwise the shell looks very honest and well redeemable.

Think of all the time and money you'd spend tracking down the parts that a rougher/ cheaper example would need!

A friend asked me what I thought - it does look complete but it has not been MOT'd for a couple of years.

All that (hopefully) was done to get a new test. But it needs repairs to inner sills and boot floor.

It's previous owner and all the leggy models that have been driven around in it must add to the value.

(note the reg number)

Yes, that list was from the failure notice but it passed a few weeks later with the same advisories

This has been in the Ebay thread already so it's been on at least once before.

Even a current MoT isn't worth the electricity necessary to display it on a computer screen.

What does that prefab guffament gobbledegeek even mean?

How over officious that tester was clearly manifests itself in writing the car up for a missing offside mirror

when matter of factly an N-reg doesn't even require one.

What counts here is what was really wrong with it and the standard to which it was repaired.

The car needs to be carefully inspected and then you either run like f00k, or come to an agreement with the seller,

since this is how classic cars are normally bought, unless you do it the correct way and buy it sight unseen

and pick it up in the rain after dark.

Besides, friends don't let friends buy Vauxhalls.

Prescribed area is corrosion within 300mm of a structural point i.e. Suspension or seat belt mount
