cant fault the life path you've chosen here with this decision...only one pic, but if that's the hallowed 'on the way at the petor station' shot on the way home, im goin to say your 'strapping to trailor' of far away car objects of desire to get them home' is .......'a bit casual' - both axles/wheels  front n back need strapping down to the trailer/transporter... n for me I like to chain/winch locked at front; best to be safe/keep the law, 'government saferty mammy's'  from spoling the collection-other than that 'carry on', n well fetched!!

I always strap both fronts...

I am not sure what the law is on securing cars but a lot of the breakdown boys only strap down on 2 wheels. I try to do all 4 when I can especially if it's going to be a long trip on winding roads which can losen them off. At least you have tied it down correctly rather than straps on the body that you still see way to often. Nice little Samba though, what are the plans for it ?

Chap who I use to rescue my Alpines says law states that the car needs to be secured by 3 separate points. He usually secures all 4 wheels but sometimes goes for two and the winch if he needs the straps to secure doors or bonnet etc (which he had to do for me last time when I bought a pup).

I thought it was merely that each axle should be strapped. I tend to do diagonal opposites if I only have two straps.

That's cracking though. Hope it isn't too rusty!

Tie downs aside for a moment....... what a FUCKING STUNNING FIND! Is it running mister? Is it? Is it?

It's rusty, but not too bad... never seen a welder before... so not patching over old patches and bodges.

Surely it has to be worth saving, there can’t be more than a small handful left.

I've two cabrios, and chances are they're both going to be broken..

I've two cabrios, one clubman spec samba rallye, and a clubman spec samba ls, oh... and a group b samba too...

Now you are teasing, what a collection! Pics pics and more pics would be brilliant. And if you ever fancy selling one, give me a shout.

And you must have a significant proportion of the surviving cabrios I would think. I can’t remember the last time I saw one, even at a show.

The other cabrio.

Pure 80s gorgeousness, a neighbour of ours had one when I was a kid, I thought he was so cool, so did he!
