205 TurdboDizzler. Should I save or let it die? (X2)

Right then let's get down to business. The cars were collected by that rare breed of a scrapman who's willing to shift them on before weighing them in. He's a friend of a friend and I don't want to piss him off or waste his time. He's storing them until Tuesday at a friends tyre garage. I could keep them there for a few days at a reasonable cost but certainly not long term. The scrapman knows he can get 130 a tonne for them. To make it worth his while and to compensate him for not telling me to fuck off he'll want to make more than that for them. If you buy both you could strip and make a good one in situ during opening hours but only for one day, this can't be an ongoing resto project. Scrap shell could be disposed of from where it is now. Terry who owns the yard as well as being a top bloke and really friendly if he knows you is also works the caberet circuit as a Chubby Brown impersonator, make of that what you will. He'll happily let you bring your own tools and beaver around cobbling one good one out of the two but he still has to run a business and can't be dragged over every 15 minutes to remove a part for you or lend out his tools.

Sorry for the terms and conditions lads!

Well worth it n'all but is scrap making 130 a ton there? €35 in my local yard at the moment if you deliver

It probably isn't here either but he's got to make a living too.

Weighing in direct at EMR at Liverpool should net a higher price per ton than going via a third party yard.

The irony is the weigh bridge ticket will state "light Iron(y)" when they do get squished.

I'd prefer not to see them die but I'm not prepared to let them ruin my life and business connections.

I'll admit that the thought of a 205 diesel 3 door dressed up as a GTi is appealing though and I could get a somewhat sympathetic MOT but this is a busy time of year for me and I'm working the night shift and paying out for two houses right now.

Further PM incoming.

Please don't judge me.

If I ever go back into 205 ownership, it'll be with a DT of some kind. Fingers crossed these get saved, almost seems insane to bin useable 205s now.

Having recently bought my first 205, I've rapidly come to like them very much indeed so I hope they do get saved. That said, I can see a lot of spare bits that would be very useful for mine on that second one.

Having viewed an eBay XRDT yesterday I'm interested in either (particularly PKF for it's nice 6 digit reg), however location and timescale makes things difficult for me.

I'm on long days, then out of the country for work until the end of next week at the earliest. If a kind shiter is willing to present PKF for MOT somewhere near to Senor Warranty, and then hold onto it until I can make my way north to collect and drive south I'm sure I could find a way to sort financial recompense.

Otherwise, it's over to you, local hero shiters.

I'm up for that red one if we have a price and it hasn't gone.

Billy, any way we could come to an arrangement?

Probably chief (if Warren is game) what are you thinking?

I always wanted another 205, and diesel makes it even more fun!

I can't help but you should shift these easy.

Any updates?

I've sent a couple of PMs about these, but it doesn't look like Mr Claim has been online.

Sorry Pug fans but I've been hard at work over the bank holiday.

Sadly storage issues meant that by the time I made it to the compound at 10am yesterday both 205s were fragged.

I'm deeply sorry for all of you who wanted to save them but as we know we can't save them all.
