Peugeot 405 GTX. Au revoir.

Either that or something inside the engine. Haven’t had a look around yet.

Can’t get myself to look in there...

I’m actually sad ...

I was thinking along similar lines to JM, valves saying hello to the pistons at a lot of speed :(

What engine is this? I have a XU7 1.9 petrol from my 405, complete with new cambelt kit, perfect head, new head bolts etc, etc.  Only issue with it is half a head bolt in the block..

I have a nice running XUD7T (1.8 turbo intercooled jobbie) sitting here in a rusty Rover car that is available for purchase to keep this lovely car alive

On the button too

Sills shot through but does drive onto a trailer, etc

Or bring a hoist as it's on flat ground in my back yard

Tempted by the dark side?

Since the Rover 75 turned up, this isn't getting used so available for purchase

There’s a guy on 405 Facebook page that’s is very keen to take this and change engine.

Better than sending it for scrap.

It’s 2.0

Laserone, I’m still waiting for the transport quote.

Will get on Shiply tonight, but if anyone happens to have an empty trailer going north..

Otherwise; I would expect D Spares and Tyres might have an interest? He'd have a customer lined up for some bits immediately ...!

Would if it were more local. Bit far for me to get enough back on it though.

Hopefully the Facebook chap will have it and resurrect it, although I don't hold much hope on that given the barely literate mouth breathers that seem to inhabit the Facebook sales sites!

Needs a diesel dropping in it.

Let him save it. It'd be a pita here.

Disagree!

Disagree!

In an ideal world, petrol is fine but being held to ransom by the government and fuel companies is not. When I say I run a diesel car, that is said to simplify matters. Rarely do I have any actual diesel in my tank.

Diesel cars = freedom of choice ☺

I've got a spare engine for this if anbody on here wants to take it on??...

If you're open minded about its replacement, I have a scruffy Mitsubishi FTO here. £350 to a shiter.

Sporty: I should be picking up replacement within an hour from another forumer. I certainly would consider the bishi.

Laserone: pm on its way

If you want to see it, give me a shout. You can never have too many cars, right?

He took them off as he didn’t want to lose them. the valuable bits.

I am buying a 405 STI off the chap who is breaking it so the wheels and caps will be ending up on that replacing the hideous alloys it currently has.

A few bits from it will also be going on my GLX (which I also bought from him). The good news is it has helped a lot of other 405s already, and he will save every usable part from it.
