Who's going to the BL/BMC Rally this Sunday

Like the title says, this Sunday is the excellent British Leyland rally at Nene Park in Peterborough, I'm taking the Dolomite down and was wondering who else was there this year?. The forecast sounds good and it's a great show with lots of proper cars!

A hard choice for me, but it looks like it is going to be Citroen GS/GSA  in Surrey for me this year.

Looks interesting, what's the address of the park? The website doesn't seem to have been updated from last year.

I went two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll probably head there on Sunday, despite being without a suitable vehicle.

I may pop along, although I have nothing to show off or buy for.

Nearly 3 hours for me, so not ridiculously far. What is the auto jumble like? Many new parts for sale? Obviously plenty of stuff I'd quite like to stock up on for the MGB.

You could always buy my Rover 114 SLi a 36k miles, good looking, great drive and MOT 31st Jan 2018. Shiters price just £500.

The Autojumble is excellent, plenty of bits to rummage through. You can display non BL stuff too but you need to pay to display. The details should be on the website although it is pretty crap.

I could. I could do that.

I'm going, although I wasn't organised enough to get a pass this year.  You can pay on the day and they give you a code for the Ferry Meadows parking, or something.  I'll work it out.

I haven't used the Metro since May so I'll give it a quick rinse and check over on Saturday.

We'll be there with beige1100 on the Allegro Club stand. Say hi if you see me (I'll be the one holding the baby).

This beast will be for sale

'Twas a good day out, although the layout of the event was rather less coherent than in previous years.  Not as many 'shiters as usual either, although RobT was there in his lovely little beige Metro, Trigger in his award-winning Dolomite and Craig in the above-pictured brace of Allegros.

One of my favourite cars of the show was this buttery biscuit bASe Montego estate - so basic it doesn't even have roof rails.  (Also 4-speed 'box, no central locking, no internal mirror adjustment etc.)  RobT pointed it out to me, I don't think I've ever seen an estate without the 'rails before.

Also fulfilled a long-held ambition and saw that Commer-diesel-engined Leyland vintage special thing on the move - it was leaving just as I arrived.  Sounded gorgeous.

Good to see you both (I missed trigger again ????).

Didn't take many pictures as on Daddy duty

Had a cracking day even though it seemed down on numbers a bit. Found a mk2 metro headlight panel for £30 that we've been searching for months for but of course it was the wrong side.

I was looking at your Allegro too Craig and I still missed you! I saw quite a few shitters about and had a thoroughly good day.

The new layout was a bit odd and I know there was a lot of upset people about it, clubs one side with about 3 cars on the stand and individuals on the other side with loads of BL branded cars and the autojumble was a bit lacking.

On the plus side I won 1st for my category, what ever that was, I think it's 70-80's and there was a lot of competition so I was well stoked!

I'll post up some proper photos when I get chance.

The bASe Montego was one of my favourites today. It was originally Oporto red but the current owner did a DIY respray in Azure blue, and although he was critical of it I thought it looked just right.

A few others that caught my eye today

Lush interior, complete with passenger 'fanny vent' as Trigger called it!

Plenty of R8s there today. This was mintola.

Non-BL content. This was one of several Dutch cars there today.
