Barry Cade Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Just home,after the long haul up the M20/M11/A1/A68 etc. The little Vito was brilliant, coping with 38 degree heat along with hills steep enough to need 1st gear. Down through France,along the top of Swizz, down through Austria on the Brenner,round the Italian lakes,back up through a bit of Swizz and some amazing little Italian Alpine passes,although got turned back on one cos it shut through the night because it's a bit dangerous, back up through Austria,Bavaria,Black Forest,Luxembourg and Belgium. Weather was HOT. Stupidly HOT. So glad I was determined to fix the old Merc's Aircon before I went, even though I really should have given up on it. Oh, and leaving on the winter tyres was a mistake, and a rumbly wheel bearing after day 2 had me switching between cold sweats and blissful ignorance. Its still rumbling loudly,but never really got any worse. Made myself a cup of coffee at Dover waiting to embark. Couple of first day spots Bodensee Couple of fake snakes at a night stop. Guys wern't happy when I tapped on the wing.. Senator.. Into Austria where they hang their 911's on the wall.. 4x4 Panda for sale 4500 Euro. Every family in Northern Italy seems to have one. They are everywhere! Some Austrian Alps. The '80's called.... TR7 in Garmisch MG's on tour in a horrible place called Livigno. One was an Australian registered MGBGT Saw lots of Yanks this year. New Mustang and Camaro are popular. Some interesting stuff at the Erwin Hymer museum. Nice 240 Ripe honest old Capri Nice early 75 for sale ,2.5 V6 manual.
