Mystery Pre War Electric car

This is from the war illustrated of 1939 and ive always been curious as to the identity of this car. The caption reads thats its an adaptation of an existing vehicle, and although a lot of the captions need to be taken with a pinch of salt that seems logical. The bonnet seems quite wide for a prewar car, abit like a Chrysler airflow. Any thoughts

Where's Barrett when you need him? I'm sure he will be able to identify it.

I'm here, and I can. It'd a Wilson Electric. Not based on a petrol car but a unique design. I think a good dozen were built, somewhere I have a photo I took of a down at heel example in the Foulks-Halbard collecting back when it was open to the public. No idea if it's still there.

Now we need our very own comedy druid to road test one for his nubhut site :P

I see the first 2 letters of the reg plate visible on the original image are the same as the other pictures. Assuming its the same car I would never have believed much of anything in those grainy images would survive 78 years.

Could you imagine an electric car built by Partridge and Wilsonsquared of this parish?
