Felly Magic Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Sadly for umpteen reasons including epic camera PHAIL I didn't take that many shots of the Ipswich-Felixtowe run the other week, did bump into Triggs OTP. There was plenty of chod there, and the V8 cars in attendance clearly were using Junkman Patent Climate Improvementâ„¢, especially the 1974 Dodge Monaco.... All together now 'She caught the katy, left me a mule to riiiiiiiiiiiiiide' Here's some chodspots from me anyway Non pineappled beige breadbin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Needs to be black and in a ska vid Nice floppytop Pug Southpaw 604 Hormone Replacement Therapy Tiriggles style Bloody big kettle, Jay Leno would be moist seeing this The Over P6's cousin in 2 litre form Trigg's Dolop Nice Ovlovlovlov Amazon estate that had a big bore tailpipe! Moar laters when I've edited them NorfolkNWeigh, AMC Rebel, mercrocker and 13 others 16
Felly Magic Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 Only took about 50 photos, this event proves one thing, Triumph Snags aren't rare around here, there were flippin loads of em. Will upload a few more in a bit once edited as the camera I used was ferkin shizzle, bloody GE rubbish that omnoms AA's like no tomorrow
Brodders Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 I posted my lot in the News 24 thread, but they were unfortunately lost last week, so I will pop my highlights from the show here too. mercrocker, strangeangel, AMC Rebel and 5 others 8
BorniteIdentity Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 I think we're getting to a tipping point with the event now; at times it was almost impossible to breathe, never mind move. It's definitely better than it was 20 years ago when you maybe had half the cars, but you could at least see them without being swept along in a fast moving current of disinterested wives and children. I'm not sure if there's a solution. You'd never get people to just walk in one direction - and there's only finite space. I'd love to see some bikes in the spa gardens, that should definitely be investigated.
trigger Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 It does get bigger every year but that's probably because 80s cars have a larger survival rate and tend to be a little bit cheaper? It's a funny show this, it is a massive event, 600 vehicles of all types in a convoy between two towns and the biggest collection of cars on a prom that you'll probably ever see yet it really doesn't get the publicity that the show deserves, even the local rag only had a couple of paragraphs of poor written blurb about it. For all the work and effort involved it really should have more publicity. Felly Magic 1
AMC Rebel Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Love Felixstowe - used to go to the Spa Pavillion for a Full English on Sundays - food was average but loved the walk and the sea views.
Felly Magic Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 I did see someone with a Sinclair C5 there. I know what you mean about jam packed with people, I lost count of how many people actually bumped into me as I was trying to take snaps, plus quite a lot of people simply sat in folding chairs right up to their cars so you couldn't get photos. Nice photos from you there Brodders, perhaps for 2018 we couild have a Shiters meet up? I had to get a taxi down to the front due to me not being good on my pins, and from Grange Farm it was six bloody quid for all of a mile and a smidge! I took just over 70 shots, binned about 30 for being shite, it's not good for photos sadly now
Brodders Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 I agree about how busy it was, I couldn't believe how many people were there, but an enjoyable day out nonetheless. I probably did bump into a few shitters, but never realised due to the number of people there. I know that Trigger managed to pap me without either of us noticing when we were ogling the pink Vauxhall Cresta that was there. Thanks for complementing the photos anyway. How did you manage to get photos with so few people walking through them? Even in my better ones here I ended up with a few people just waltzing through, completely unaware of what I was trying to do. paulscavalier, 59Impala, Dick Cheeseburger and 6 others 9
Felly Magic Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 I totally lost heart trying to take photos, you should see what busveg are like if you dare accidentally walk in to their shot at a rally, I almost slotted someone when he started ranting at me for accidentally walking where he was snapping a vehicle that was parked up at an event in Birkenhead a few years back, I mustardmitt that £22.5k mk2 Scrote made me roflecopter
Spottedlaurel Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Good to see some photos - a few familiar cars and some new ones. I fancied a bit of a break from it this year, but will take part again at some point in the future. I'd like to talk to the owner of the white Auto Union, as I think he knows about the Mazda 616 that still exists somewhere.
Felly Magic Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 Will post more tomorrow, not really in the mood to finish doing the last few, grand total from me was about 80 in all now I've done a count up, but at least another 30 went in the bin, need to get the photos swmbo took as well on her phone
Brodders Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Will post more tomorrow, not really in the mood to finish doing the last few, grand total from me was about 80 in all now I've done a count up, but at least another 30 went in the bin, need to get the photos swmbo took as well on her phoneShould be good to see some more tomorrow, I missed quite a few gems when making my rounds, including the very nice Alfasud that was on the southern end of the promenade. Going back to what you said earlier, do you reckon there would be any interest in an East Anglian Shitter's meet up during the summer? It could be good to put some more faces to names and ogle some shite.
Spottedlaurel Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 What about Shotley in the meantime? If the weather's OK I shall be there this Thursday in the 1200. BorniteIdentity and trigger 2
Felly Magic Posted May 15, 2017 Author Posted May 15, 2017 Sounds like a plan, will see what swmbo says, as sadly I have to rely on her to get me about these days

Brodders Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Unfortunately I won't be able to make it on Thursday, but enjoy it anyway and post some pictures up if you get the chance. trigger 1
Philyc Posted May 15, 2017 Posted May 15, 2017 Managed to get to ipswich in time for the first few to go. I was i the mini and guessed the route so got myself to about a 3rd of the way along and drove back towards ipswich. Was a great way to see most of the cars. Much overheating was seen as the outskirts of ipswich was brought to a standstill. My daughter (2yrs) was in the passenger seat and loved all the busses. Had her scream "daddy bus" every time we passed anything bigger then a fiesta BorniteIdentity and trigger 2

BorniteIdentity Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 I'm fairly sure that the RR was a complete bare metal rebuild. I spoke to the dude and he said he could have spent less buying a nearly new one. (My kind of bloke). Sometimes he takes the steering wheel off for maximum security. [/MrBean]
Felly Magic Posted May 16, 2017 Author Posted May 16, 2017 Trigger's new broom then LOL, anyhow, duck, incoming!!!! Plastic floppytop Princess Anne style in this lot. Next batch will be from SWMBO mercrocker, Brodders and danthecapriman 3
mercrocker Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 top spottage-ing to all concerned, particularly given the hordes of ice-cream lickers and gawpers who were apparently there.... I love the shot of the Austin 8 with the old feller next to it - looks like Felixstowe, 1960! Nice to see that SB of Lodge's again - happy memories of being carted about on that at the Rhythm Riots a few years ago. IIRC it is also the one from the Only Fools and Horses TV film pre-quel thing when they are all young'uns again.
Felly Magic Posted May 16, 2017 Author Posted May 16, 2017 Lodge's both SB's were there, along with 1 of their OBs, they seem to attend every year
