Collecshun Thread this Sunday - Quite possibly ending in tears!

I'm just going to leave this here for now. I'm paying for it tomorrow morning and collecting on Sunday.

Its VERY rusty and hasn't moved for 10 years

Any guesses?

Prelude too could be included? 80s badges with the anti lock brakes too. Winner!

If it's not being driven to a pre-booked MOT then you've no chance of tipping the last half dozen collection threads..

ALB. With the universal love of English acronyms, I wonder why it was only Honda that didn't go all German on us?

Thanks guys. Yep indeed its a 1988 Honda Accord 2.0 EXi. Its been parked outside, unmoved in the same spot since 2007 when the last MOT expired.

For the most part its not in bad nick. Heady mix of beige and chocolate interior in mint condition, manual box, air-con and cruise.

Alternator is seized and currently off of the car. Sorry to disappoint, but i won't be driving this back home as I've not got a death wish  :-D

I give you just a taste of the rot (sills are totally gone at the back) and why i'm not driving it until it has a little more structural integrity!

It may be too far gone but its VERY cheap so "in for a penny in for a pound!"

Fuck me, you must have Kevlar pants to contain your massive balls of steel!

Good luck!

Is this a four door saloon? If so, my mates dad had one, possibly from new. It was ace, proper eighties interior and a really airy and light cabin.

That sill inspection hole is at least on par with one particular Jag of this parish.

Jeepers! They do like to rot. Which is bloody irritating, because I'd love to own one. I fear I've missed my chance.

I've got to be honest, if you're doing anything other than stripping it for a bit/weighing it in, you're a braver man than most.

The one (possibly) saving grace is that both rear arch sections and full sills are still available as repair panels.

Well the reasoning is that its a mega bargain price which even i'm not idiot enough to turn down. Me and my welding mate are going to have a poke around and see how bad it really is. If its just restricted to sills and back end then it might not be too bad a job. Can be bad as the manta i had, you could poke your head right through the rear 1/4 panel into the car!

If it looks like its going to be a total money pit then i'll just break it. Mid 80's Jap parts, scene tax and all that mean that i should make a decent amount even in parts.

Its only because of owner neglect that its like this. I've been looking at these for a while and like most things now deemed to be "RETRO", the prices have got out of hand. This one came up at scrap money so felt like i didn't really have anything to lose.

There's a late-eighties 2.7 Legend in a Colchester driveway that's been giving me twinges for a good while. I do wish I had a bit of space / my own scrapyard
