I've been meaning to do this event for a while, but the weather is normally too grim. Last minute check of the forecast yesterday said dry but windy, so thought I'd give it a go.

Up at the crack and I was at Stoneleigh Park in time for the first run on the live rally stage. A random selection of pics follows for your viewing pleasure.

Some of the cars were being driven a bit gingerly. The dude in this Sunbeam was hammering it, excellent stuff.

A well-driven Sunbeam is a sight to behold. There used to be one came to Nutt's Corner Rallycross that had a rotary engine from an RX-3 in it.

Was then time to go indoors to defrost my feet, and eat a sausage roll.

This R8 was for sale as the guy selling it was retiring from racing. He also had a Metro Turbo and didn't scoff when I told him mine was only a 998cc L, which was nice.

No idea what this is, but it had a Lotus engine and sounded like thunder.

He had quite a few spins in the Sunbeam yesterday. He was proper on it! Gutted to miss Ari in the Legacy. He was in a Beemer on Saturday.

Did a bit of shite spotting to round off the day...

There was about 1.3mm betwixt wheel and rear arch on this 2CV!

I liked these two as they were being used, not cosseted, and the Porsche had rust in some odd places

The Cavalier was my car of choice today, as the heater in the Safrane is shit and it's more economical. 287 miles at 42mpg in pez, and one litre in water. I think the radiator has a crack in the plastic end bit by the top hose, but I thought I'd risk it. Just packed loads of gaffer tape, cable ties and 6 litres of water!

That Porsche 914 was at Brooklands on NYD. Looks fab. I was talking to someone somewhere who knew the owner. Can't remember who or where though.

That Esprit looks really familiar to me. I'm sure I've seen it on display somewhere before. Probably Knockhill...?

Ace photos though, good to see old chod being driven in anger!
