Split_Pin Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 A family friend is selling his Vectra B 2.2 Sport. He has had it since 2005 and I have known it since 2009 and wanted it for all of that time! I have no more space for other cars though and since the Megane cost nothing to get through the MOt I now have spare cash to get the Corsa sorted which I absolutely must do. It is in almost immaculate condition with only a few bubbles on one arch. It is a genuine Opel and not a modified Vauxhall. It has auto air con, cruise control and half leather. 88k miles, 1 year MOT and timing chain was replaced in 2014. He is looking for £750 and the car is located in Bonnybridge. PRICE REDUCED TO £700 after conversations. He is threatening to park it on my drive to see in my wife notices (he know I like the car!) Plus it deserves better than to go to the Facebook market place drongos who are currently lowballing to buggery. oldcars, trigger and Cavcraft 3
320touring Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Looks tidy! Pity its well out my operating budgets:( Also the prices seem to be different?
Split_Pin Posted February 21, 2017 Author Posted February 21, 2017 He said he would accept £700 now.
sierraman Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Must say it does look tidy. Well all be saying wish we'd bought them in 5 years when they acquire cult status. I'm not getting into the 'Voxhalls are shit' debate but as an icon of the late 1990's I can see people seeking them out through nostalgia in a few years.
stripped fred Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Those seats look comfy! I'm half hoping my cambelt snaps so I can buy this. sierraman 1
320touring Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 Having owned a slightly less pristine example, I can say this one looks spot on and a bit of a Bargain!
Split_Pin Posted February 21, 2017 Author Posted February 21, 2017 I have known the car for many years and it it pristine. George worked in the motor trade all his life and kept this one forecourt-fresh! oldcars 1
Split_Pin Posted February 21, 2017 Author Posted February 21, 2017 I would mention that the towbar has never been used by George since he had the car in 2005. I'm not sure if that's important but people seem to make mention of this sort of thing in adverts. Many years honest motoring left in this motor car. Delivery service also available.
Split_Pin Posted February 22, 2017 Author Posted February 22, 2017 Yes, might be Fiskins of Forfar but it's originally from Ireland. oldcars 1
How-J Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Tidy!DVLA says its a March 01, so take it that means muchos £ "roadtax"?
oldcars Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Is the cut off not April 01? Tidy!DVLA says its a March 01, so take it that means muchos £ "roadtax"?
Split_Pin Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 Cars regd before 1/3/2001 tax based on engine size Cars registered on or after that it's based on Co2. No idea if that has a positive or negative impact on this car. oldcars 1
Split_Pin Posted February 23, 2017 Author Posted February 23, 2017 This one will be the same, cheers chap
aldo135 Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 That looks great, would love it but not got finances either right now. Will talk to the breadwinner about this tomorrow but I know what the answer will be!
Split_Pin Posted February 24, 2017 Author Posted February 24, 2017 George used it to ferry his grandchildren around for years so it's fit four your purposes! Don't forget the 'useful' towbar too 😀 aldo135 1
aldo135 Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 I went to see this yesterday morning but couldn't get the money together. If it had been next month... My dad came back from holidays last night, was tempted to go and tap him this morning!
