None of these mods are worth it if you fail to tell your insurer any get caught out!

i dont know why folks hide stuff like exhausts from insurers, mine didnt go up even by a penny when i had the stainless made for the saph and informed them

Can't understand the point in using a K&N on the basis of saving money in the long run... a standard filter for mine is £3.80, the K&N is £58. On the basis it does 24k between filter changes how could I possibly save money there.

And a MAF. In any case it's only a performance benefit when in conjunction with some form of performance exhaust. Even then you'll only find and increase in performance when you are thrashing the fuck out the engine.

I have a k&n panel filter in the lancer, so far so good,

I also have a hand full of cone filters removed from various cars I've bought over the years if anyone wants to experiment.

I fitted an oily filter (Pipercross I think) to my C4 VTS, it made a bit more noise, but I replaced it back to standard when I noticed it kept getting clogged up with dead flies!

Incidentally, there is an induction kit which does work with my car (rolling road tests to prove) but it costs about £250 so I haven't bothered.

Talking of panel filters.

K&N do a replacement filter for GSX14s, it has proved on dynos to remove 1-2% of the power everytime.

I fitted one to my recently departed 940 turbo along with a manual boost controller, because I'm a child and the noises made by the turbo and recirculating valve made me giggle.

I run an Apexi Super Intake on mine, and it is right in the path of the side air intake, so I think it is worthwhile.
