Prepostrous 'rare' item spots on ebay

These items always make me laugh, the 'rare' stuff that you can get anywhere else all the time, including on ebay itself. The other annoyance is the 'one of a kind', which is often referred to a standard car with hideous 18" Ripspeed alloys and a bee-sting aerial:http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1993-VAUXHALL-AST ... 240%3A1318These cars are at the lowest price they're ever going to be now, so 2k with a higher reserve set is utterly ridiculous. How is this a 'one of a kind', you silly boy.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Classic-Rare- ... 240%3A1318

Recommended Retail Price from Vauxhall: Over £30 plus Postage(That's if you can find one as this is very Rare!!!!)

That's if you can find one - how about going to Vauxhall and seeking out their plentiful stock for £4.

As I'm not very bright could someone please explain how a one of a kind car can be be 'getting rarer by the day' :?

the Astra lad reckons the BUY IT NOW PRICE IS £2000 NO OFFERS OR SWAPS but he's started his auction at 2 grand and stuck a reserve on top of that. Obviously hasnt full grasped how auctions work yet.

Hmmm, 'rare' does seem to be a somewhat overused term.

Check out this rarity. OMG I'm buying it to put in a museum. In fact, I'm on the phone to Beaulieu and Gaydon right now...

Get yourself in a bidding war with Lord Montagu for the privilege of owning this rare future French classic >

Yes, but it's an ...

Excellent oppurtunity to buy used 7 Seater in very good condition.

Like I've been waiting for an -excellent opportunity- to buy a sickly green, underpowered people carrier. We had a hire version one of these in 2.0 petrol, I can imagine the 1.6 is horrid.

Talk about wearing a horn out:

Some car's are 'rare' for good and very valid reasons, that Zafira fits in to the category.

Something tells me that Zafira has done a lot more mileage than showing. I have to run Astras for a company bus, have done since 2001 and have done many a mile in one - I've given em back with similiar mileage to that Zafira and the wheel / pedals / etc all were 10 times better nick than that one...

I second that... the early stuff was very problematic mainly the 'rare' 1.6 ones that my friends owned which both destroyed their own ECUs  Oh, on the subject of rare badges, I have an even rarer 'HL' badge from the bootlid of my now deceased Mini... What'll it fetch on fleabay I wonder :? ?

It is, we were given one for a few days whislt Perrys tried to fettle the DPF system on oyr diesel version - it was soooooo slow, and not economical at all.

If you fancy getting rid of it, my Mini's HL badge has disintegrated and it's currently wearing a cut down HLE badge from a Triumph Acclaim...

A 'rare' Peugeot 206?*looks at auction*It's a silver 206, with a few parking dings. If that's rare then I must live in a museum, there's three on my street. As for the 'one of a kind' Astra, if he thinks Superchips only made one ECU and he's got it then he's a deluded little boy; that's the only engine mod he seems to have.
