Skoda coming to kent tomorrow

I want to take on Walter's (ex-Shadow) Favorit for a bit - but logistically it's tricky - I rarely venture out of the county!

Anyone up for bringing it down to Kent? No need to come all the way to Herne Bay - I could meet at Ebbsfleet station (or you could leave the car somewhere close to there and post me the key!).

Ebbsfleet to St Pancras is 20 mins - for trains back to the Midlands.

£80 cash offered, which should cover petrol + train fare + lunch and a couple of beers!

Cheers folks. Let's try and keep this one in the family for now - and I expect I'll pop it up for sale/roffle next year some time.

Car will be taxed and insured by me before you travel.

cheers Bub - I'll PM you the Skoda's exact location - as don't want to post walter's details on the open forum.

70.50 train back. How do shiters find it cheaper? I can take my car to the skoda and get train back to notts to pick my motor up.

Google for Split Ticketing.

If you can get to St Pancreas for 18.34 and change at Grantham, you can get to Nottingham for £35.20

yeah, I thought train would be cheaper. Let me have a look too. I was assuming some advanced tickets might be available when I first posted...

Wonderful news I shall check my messages and see what is going on.

Bub's driving this down to Kent on Tuesday - can I arrange 1 day breakdown cover for him??

Posted

What cover does Bub have? Autoaid and some others cover the person in any car not just a car on the policy.

Probably not financially viable as most providers change more for older cars.

Autoaid is £43 for the year, maybe see if you and bub can reach a deal to buy that for him, covers any car regardless of age.

Bub doesn't have cover, yes could do a deal on autoaid. I'm with them myself. I'll check out if any cheaper options tomorrow.

If you buy a day insure for £28ish you can have breakdown cover for an extra £2 or something.

Yep, good idea, Bub would probably have to do in his name though - or I would probably need his personal details as an additional driver.

The broken down stuff on day insurance i have been to (Aviva mostly) the cover is only good for a 10 mile tow, anything further is chargable.
