I love these old crates. Hope it sticks around.

It is just the lack of power steering that has caused it's sale.

My dad had one of these new way back in 1991, nice looking motah sir.

This deserves a bump. Let me tell you where I am....

I can't take this on now. Busiest work time of year, kids, wife, family etc yadda yadda.

However - If any other shitter can buy it/run it now, I guarantee to buy it from you on 1/2/17 for the same that you pay for it mitigating your 'downside risk' on the purchase!

(Assuming it doesn't get crashed or stolen or have terminal mechanical fault).

Other Ts and Cs on this offer would be assuming I don't get made redundant or something. Also, a shitter south of its current location would kinda make sense all round.

It is good to see the Favorit has made an impact especially with the Egg.

New price, car and spares £300.

I hope that helps any rescue plans get off the ground and get this characterful little motor a new owner.

More photos and accurate list of spares this weekend.

Plenty of receipts to show I have lost money therefore I win ðŸ†.

Alternatively if no buyer emerges would there be sufficient interest in a ROFFEL, 50 entries @ £6 ea.

MrsYoof just had to pay back nearly half a bag of sand to her old employer who fudged up her last payslip (despite her giving them six month's notice in written form and therefore plenty of time to sort shit out). This has somewhat dented our finances.

Therefore, I'd be interested in a ROFFLE purely for the potential profit in selling it on (nobody would ever have thought that 'profit' and 'Skoda Favorit' would meet in the same sentence).

However, I still hold out hope that egg would find a partner in grime as he sounds like he could give it the loving home it deserves.

If it doesn't go that way, I'll have two tickets, and hope that collectioning need not be done urgently and picking-upperage can occur from nearby railway/bus stations etc.

I'm talking it over with Walter. Might only stay with me for a few months, and I would of course consider a roffle then!

Onto the car, bad bit not visible, heated rear window not working and car drops a couple of drops of oil shortly after switching off. I have been unable to find or fix either.

Otherwise as photos show and driving nicely.

Photos taken today.post-20331-0-39369800-1477757347_thumb.jpgpost-20331-0-38052800-1477757433_thumb.jpgpost-20331-0-06329200-1477757490_thumb.jpgpost-20331-0-18316900-1477757528_thumb.jpgpost-20331-0-46575100-1477757583_thumb.jpg

Quite a sharp looker these I reckon, its a long time since i saw one rumbling round. Looks ace in that last pic.

Saw a scruffy red Favorit pick-up on Sunday mind you, that was quite an event, driven by a weathered-looking middle aged farmers-wife type character

There's an Favorit estate not far from me - first job will be to get a joint pic.

Howmanyleft says just 265 Favorits on the roads now (with 375 SORN'd). As recently as 2009 there were 2,500 around so they are disappearing rapidly (no pun intended).

Silverline model just 20 of 'em.

(usual data caveats apply).

Thanks for giving it a wash though ahead of its big journey tomorrow.

I wonder how long it will be before I'm round at chips away saying what can you do with that tailgate  :-o

Posted

Tailgate is a common problem, they must trap water. New fibreglass tailgates are available in Czech republic and Slovakia so the owners club tell me, the only snag is you have to collect them.

Checked fluids and topped up oil ( 10/40 shell helix), all good.

Now sold and on it's way to Egg.

I hope you enjoy this ace little car.post-20331-0-45023300-1478020579_thumb.jpg

Bub is on his way - stuck on the M1 at the moment. Going to be touch and go whether he makes the booked train back to Notts. If he doesn't, I'll have to dig in my pocket! Not going to leave him stranded in the big smoke.

Posted

He hasn't crossed the Dartford crossing yet....according to my online account. Unless he does in the next 5 mins he's not going to make it...

Sorry folks. Not even at dartford crossing yet. Needed a toilet stop and a fag.been holding legs and gasping for nigh on two hours.

I must say i never thought an old skoda would make a comfy long distance cruiser

good luck with the rest of the journey, and let me know what you need for the ticket home. Give me a call once you are in London.
