You are Dibbler AICMFP.

Might add it had new rear shockers, front pads and discs and the timing belt when my old man had it so piece of mind there.

The misfire I'd say is very likely the Coil and leads, you can pick cheap sets of these up for £20-30 on fleabay.

I think the part code for the coil is 1317972. Bosch ones about £40.

Got to be worth it for the 89 years of National Trust membership that sticker conveys. GLWS.

I've seen that. It's got more mileage than mine has and he wants the earth for it. I'd have thought the shit alloys and the cherry bomb on the back would have devalued it if anything.

As much as I like these cars I have to concede they are worth square root of fuck all. £1500 is silly money.

I'd ask him what he'd offer. In fact I'll do it now and report back.

If you do roffle, would probably buy a couple of tickets.

(never owned a ford with a heated windscreen so its one of the cars on a wird bucket list I have)

Posted

It is a tidy one but I'd say no more than £600.

If he wants to give me a grand for one with 60k on the clock he can have it!!

Posted

There's two mk1 bases for sale at the moment, one without MOT for £1.5k and one at £695. No chance, in both cases.

Posted

I hope they go up in price, as much as I like mine if someone offered me a £1800 or whatever on it I'd snap their hand off. Very non Autoshite but I'd spend it on a Mk4 Mondeo or Mk2 Focus.

Posted

I've every faith it will sort out the problem. I got a reply, he was interested, wanted to know the mileage and how much history it had but wouldn't commit to a price.

Mine has no history at all, at this age its purely academic whether it had the brake fluid changed in 2003. I used to save receipts and all sorts but it all usually ends up in the bin when I've scrapped it. Never sold a car and had anyone ask to see the history.

Heard back from the seller, he offered us £650 on mine. Wasn't sure why he wanted another £1200 on top for car with 20,000 more miles on the clock. Have I missed something here?

Posted

Sale has fallen through so now back on market.  Will come with new coil pack when I collect it from the post office.

Posted

I'm surprised you are having trouble selling it. It's a running MOT'd car for £350 what on earth do people want? That's a months payment on a PCP on a new Mondeo even!!

RIFFLE! RAFFLE! ROFFLE!

Four tickets pls.

I was trying to give the other roffle(s) a chance - it's only been on offer a week - will roffle if the autoshite massive fancies it

Would swap for a quality women's bike of similar value, Jag XJ350 factory HID light unit (nearside, working), Disco 3 towbar and electrics, etc etc

Posted

Retrieved this from the post office this morning - will be fitted when I get a minute -

Would also swap for in car stereo stuff, set of Range Rover Classic wheels or Disco 3 wheels with legal tyres, motorbike, large garden table etc etc

Posted

Or you could pay £1545 more for one with similar mileage and history with silly lower suspension, the wrong wheels and a noisy exhaust

Put the new Coil pack on today.

Plugs look OK, gaps seemed large but they right.

Anyone know how to get the radio code?
