A Couple of Auction Cars

A little auction's coming up and these seemed like sky-high estimates:

  • 1965 Ford Cortina Mk I GT Sports Saloon (25,000-30,000 pounds).....3100 hours spent on restoration
  • Morris Mini Minor Saloon (12,000-16,000 pounds)
  • 1985 MG Metro Racer (100,000-120,000 pounds)
  • 1979Vauxhall Chevette HS Hatchback (16,000-20,000 pounds)

I'm thinking they're in really good condition or ultra desirable or something. Anyone game, it's the Bonhams Goodwood Revival auction 10 September. A ton of really high-ender cars for sale, too(pasta rockets, Jaaags, 2 truckloads of Aston Martins, Bentleys, Porsches, etc.). Maybe a good place to get drunk and randomly bid on stuff. Not going myself.

Will that short guy with the grey hair and mustache be there. The one for whom 'it's all about the chase'.

Metro Racer might mean 6R4, in which case it's a fair estimate.

I quite like Mr Carini. Reminds me of the Lorax.

6R4 Group B Rallye Car all tarted up.

There's also a cased tea set they're expecting 1,000 pounds for, a weird Pirelli Tires belt buckle by Salvadore Dali, and a 56 Porch they're set at getting 4-5M pounds for.

Faker, you see anything good? They charge to get into the auction?

The Pirelli belt buckle sold for L 1,250, the MG Metro Racer for L 113,000 and the Porsche L 4,600,000.
