Amazon car parts, cheapo el cheapo

Just had a proper look (i.e waded though loads of pages) and found a thermostat, fan belt tensioner and water pump all at 90% off each, basket value under £30. Amazing!

Don't really need any of them mind... but if the alternator is coming off anyway....

I just bought more stuff for the 405. A set of front vented discs, rear discs, front pads, rear pads, all the caliper sliders, pad mounting kits, everything from Ferodo or ATE, and a new radiator, yes, a radiator for the automatic, for £46.37 all in. So I spent less than a bullseye and a pony for three calipers, front and rear discs, pads all round and a radiator!

MADNIZ

Also, as soon as I had bought that stuff, it all went back to regular price. Should you want it now, it'll cost you over 600 quid!

Still need a front left caliper, but after this, I just can't bring myself towards paying full whack for it.

And who needs car parts?

I just bought the following for Miss Lette:

- Airsal 73cc kit comprising of cylinder, piston, pin, circlips, gaskets

- 15mm Dell'orto and inlet pipe

- Gianelli race expansion chamber and silencer

The entire order amounts to a whopping £16.47 including postage.

All this combined with my teensy wee pull and wonder drum brakes: Priceless!

Maybe they have a "smart" new algorithm in their system that makes stuff cheaper the longer its been sitting in the warehouse?

Let me check their fine wines department...

The last time I bought Pfanni over the internet I ended up getting into a lot of trouble  :-D

Wine?

I just bought 9 packs of Pfanni Halb und Halb for 7 quid delivered!

Only 9? Better get some stock... will be 70 after brexit and special trained Pfanni dogs will sniff your car at the borders!

Holy crap, I really did get a brand new Valeo radiator for the SLK for £18...

I got a brand new Valeo radiator for a Renault Megane for £11 which didn't bloody fit...

One brake calliper, one pollen filter (Febi), one suspension bush (Febi) one anti roll bar joint, two Bosch oil filters for a Mk3 Astra, total £3.45.

Er, and £20 worth of credit card vouchers.  But still £3.45 out of pocket.

Which adds to my two sets of front shocks, two ball joints, two more suspension bushes, two track rod ends, one pair wheel bearings, two top strut mounts for £5.50 with another set of credit card vouchers, can't remember how much.

Getting silly......really could sell some of this on ebay.  The amount of packing with the last lot was really mental.

This is very useful for getting the parts right.  Also, just search on the part numbers for parts that the muppets have put in completely the wrong categories.  Are we ever going to pay much for anything again?  I thought I was tight before I found this.

re: the ebay re-selling, I think because (a) people are suspicious of parts from non-business sellers (b ) cos ebay'll take 10% in fees (c ) cos paypal fees (d) it takes parts AGES to sell even at silly prices - I would say probably a waste of time.

But if I was unemployed and had loads of free time, I'd have a go!

Just managed to spend £55 on a load of shite I don't need.... The total value was something like £2757368 though.

It's all coming in separate boxes.  This is insane, it is just raining parcels.  The whole family must think I am treating myself to vast quantities of stuff.

Which I suppose is right really.  I wonder if I can make a whole new car for £100?
