Toyotally Fixerating Bitz 'n Bobs.. A Diary

I think I observed earlier in this thread... "The only classic Toyota is the Celica" was the view of 'specialist' underwriters.

.... That's me told then :(

I pay £98 per year to insure an MR2 Turbo. :-)

Considering 2x RING +130 H4 bulbs.

Good prices on Amazon and a winner in Auto Express mag review.

My 2" Vac gauge will be here soon. I have studied comments on various Toyota site and I'm fairly certain a vac port is to be found, poking out directly below the carb/facing bulkhead.

Not using the Dizz vac as it is 'ported' (changes relative to throttle disc position).

Looking forward to carb/timing antics... ;)

That’s amazing. Certainly doesn’t look 27. Reckon you’ll get it to 30?

Liked for the beautiful car, not the poorly daughter. Hope she's feeling better soon.

I don't like Coast Road Tesco since they've changed it round. Nice bogs though.

Nanook of the North has just 'bongdd' our door.

2 Bulbs + 3device/1yr Kaspersky (over £20 free Amazon delivery)

.... looked well soaked and cold, poor chap!

New bulbs fitted... you have to remove the 3 pin socket, then pull away a rubber boot [which is a damn tight fit!] and unhook the 'hairgrip' spring.

Easy enough on the drivers side but a wee bit tight, behind the battery on the passenger side...

75 miles without batting an eyelid?

That's to the shops and back! Think you need to add a naught on the end and let it really stretch it's legs.

Good News + Bad (...not so) News :)

My £5 n.o.s. Bosch plug leads arrived in a big box .. err .. INCLUDING the cap!!

Cap - Toyota (19101-16120) it says inside - seems a factory set part number = Winnah

My loose cap - ordered at the same time cos I thought it was leads only - from Amazon, cannot be cancelled today BUT I can generate a returns label and send it back for full refund :)

Hahaha! I tried that with the 405 and now it needs a new engine

I have a fairly broad hotch-potch of spanners...

Mostly noname and rough forge stamped.

In TK Max, of all places, I spied some svelt, highly polished spanners. Not [sadly] in their very large 'clearance' tub but reasonably priced.

I did a bit of snooping on tehWeb....

Seems my 'miles & miles' of rubber vac hose is 4mm id.

I have spluffed £3 on 2M of red silicone so I can do some refreshing 'deep down & dirty' in the nether regions.

Red looks rather fetching (vs. Boring Bloo... )
