sporty-shite Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I've acquired the ex Fatha Sporty and Ma Cobblers Golf auto. I've been using it for the last couple of weeks, but come the beginning of next month, Mrs S's new future shite will be taxed and roadworthy, and I'll get the Spanish Rocket back. So, my question is, what should I do with Rolf Golf? It's a decent motor, drives well and is solid, which is rare for one of these. I don't really have a use for it, but if I sell, it will probably just become a disposable car for someone, which seems a shame. With that in mind, should I clear all the shit our of my garage, park it up and leave it there, or should I just stop being so soft and sell the thing? Pictures follow to aid in helping me make up my mind.... Look at that mileage!!11! Saggy drivers seat Throbbing 1.8 powerhouse saucedoctor and anonymous user 3
Kiltox Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 This would be absolutely perfect for my other half to learn in and then use because she has insisted on learning in a slusher - first dibs if you do want to sell please! ..... it's her birthday next weekend too anonymous user 1
Brodders Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 If you are able to make room then you may as well keep it, it is a decent car and you like it. However, if you do sell it on here, odds are it will end up going to a decent home if that is what you are worried about. eddyramrod 1
mrbenn Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 If you're attached to it in any way, and you have the space, then I'd say keeping it is a no-brainer. saucedoctor 1

Kiltox Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 If people could stop telling him to keep this now that'd be great eddyramrod and mrbenn 2
purplebargeken Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 I have become quite attached to mine, it's solid, reasonably sized, easy to work on and parts are very available and not expensive. Keep it or sell it to Kiltox
Kiltox Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 sell it to Kiltox Basically all I saw in this post I've agreed a sale on my 216 cabriolet to accommodate it too!! Brodders and purplebargeken 2

cobblers Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 That was the best car my mum ever bought! It was incredibly pleasant to drive - the box was dead laggy and felt like you had rubber band driveshafts but once you took that into account it was ace. She replaced it with a flipping e46 318 cabriolet which by all accounts was a pile of shit and cost her 4k. She traded that in (and got 2k) a year later against an 07 plate Audi A3 which is better but still has twice the miles on that golf and none of the central locking works and it only starts half the time. 23rdian 1
Split_Pin Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 That is the last shape of Golf that I like the look of, very smart indeed. purplebargeken 1
