Serious France Autoshite venture

Was thinking about this - in August, Dover ferry at 12am - 2am Saturday morning, over to Calais, France, go to whatever camp site, leave Sunday evening or Monday morning.

Ferry is 50 - 60 quid, camping is cheap, France is beautiful, etc.

Where did you get that ferry price ? Is that return or one way

Both ways off-peak I would have thought, it's not like the fucking rip-off crossing the Irish Sea.

Sounds great, just what Mrs SL and I did in pre-children days. We'd just find a site at the end of the day wherever we happened to end up, having used a decent road atlas to drive on the most interesting/smallest/wiggliest roads and visit attractions/sights during each day.

Any Isis or maxi diesels?

Don't you mean Renault 20s,

I forgot my price was with trailer so that explains the price difference,

I think the clue to the cheap price was in Station's suggestion of 12-2am crossing.

I'll probably be in France in August , so I'll be sure to pack my best towrope.

I'll also be in France in August - family duties in Normandy. If a tow rope has already been packed, I'll pack the gaffer tape.

I agree entirely with Stations sentiments.

Here's a quote from another thread but disregard the last part.

Foreign AS meet thread quote

Plenty of room at Fogchod towers for a proper AS meet, just a pastis inspired idea, not sure if Mrs Frogchod would approve.....

I'd potentially be up for something, funds, chod and time permitting.

Pack an a frame, (not a tow rope) - if you are serious aquisitors!

Mrs B searches the boot now, so I have to hide it under the back seat!
