Shitefest Dream Accommodation FOR SALE

I don't think it would take much to sort that ceiling out.

The bathroom ceiling is 100% due to an external water leak from under the aluminium rail on the top corner where wall meets roof and possibly also from the strip down the middle of the roof where the two halves join.

Depends how bad the rot is whether the frame needs replaced or if it would dry out ok. Its very basic carpentry anyway if it needs replaced, then sheet over with whatever. Caravan wallboard is quite expensive so since its a bathroom I would probably do it with some kind of PVC sheeting. Alternatively, hardboard and wallpaper/paint.

Externally you need to get that rail off, remove the old sealant and apply copious amounts of new stuff then refit the rail with stainles steel screws;

I used to do that for a living and have rebuilt literally hundreds like it. On a caravan of this age its absolutely nothing unusual and this one doesnt look particularly bad.

What that man says ^^^^^^^^^. Not a big job to fix. I already have a large twin axle Adria caravan , who is 25 this year. The old ones are the best. Good luck with the sale.

I think cocktail cabinets are a caravan thi g. Mine is a 1991 and thats got one too. What actually happened in the bathroom?

Posh git, my 87 Adria dones not have this  :-(

Well mine has hot and cold water, carver cascade carver crystal pump too. Shower also but no oven!

Condensation and/or leakage at the seams is the most likely cause of the bathroom problem and is common on older caravans.  Fortunately, it only requires simple woodworking skills to remove a bit of paneling to find good wood on the frame, then splice or otherwise join some new wood to it and re-panel.  I found the task very satisfying when I repaired more extensive frame rot on an old Robin caravan that I had in my Renault 20 days, not as depressing as chasing rust!  DW's van is excellent value and the minor rot has not been hidden by a quick splash of cheap emulsion over hardboard (no frame repair) as often happens with the hideous 'shabby chic' Kidston style makeovers, for which optimists ask £thousands. Other opinions may be available.

Mine has only cold water as the hot doesn't work and I've not got round to trying to fix it yet. Also, the gas fire is left off to prevent death. No oven either just a hob. The awning has tape on to cover a few holes. Sounds spartan but on a family holiday in the summer with a microwave and george foreman grill, tv, radio and a shower block nearby it is comfy. We've had some brilliant family holidays.

Better than mine. We have a hob and a fridge. The pump required for the water is about half the cost of the can so we use bottles of water. Love it we have great family breaks away in it.

Oh yes. Forgot to mention. It has completely untested water - foot pump or electric. We just used bottled water too.

Providing the caravan keeps water off you the rest is irrelevant if it gets you away for a break
