We get our eggs from a local farm and we had a tray of 30 once where 3/4 were doubles !

With that run of luck, albeit solely egg-related, I think you should do an ebay search for BIN listings of vehicles of a certain age then do a blind-fold random click and see what you end up with.

Dunno what causes 'em - my Grandad kept hens and we never got one out of those.   Probably fertility feed or something....

 

Go and get that lottery ticket - the last time I had a double yolker was when we were supposed to going on holiday and the Spanish airport staff went on strike.   We were told to turn up at Gatwick but not expect to go anywhere (had to turn up for insurance to be valid or something). 

 

Anyhoo we decided to get up as planned, have a cooked brekkie and get on up the road.   The two last eggs we wanted to use up before going on holiday were double yolkers! 

 

Got to Gatwick on time and ours was the only flight to Spain that took off that day......

Double yolkers I ain't got one for years, when I was a lad we used to get an egg man who used to come around the streets, my mum used to get a tray each week and a high number of those were doubles.

We used to get some extra large free range eggs from Bolton market,and had a good run of double yolkers. The eggs were massive anyway, so.the doubles were lime two eggs at once.
