Maaaahvelous morning drive in.The Al Read show on BBC7, a Mk 5 Cortina spotted, followed by a Mantra, followerd by an Alfasud and finally a Mk1 Morris mini Minor - but the thing that really made me beam and give the driver a big thumbs up was the site of the biggest alsation dog in the world riding in the flatbed of a morris 1000 pick up - i just hope no over zelous policeman pulled him over as the dog was clearly having a ball.Brought back very happy memories of my childhood and david Woodleys uncles pick up - doing the same thing - only it was us kids and the dog in the flatbed.Sorry, no pics, but the Mantra and the Cortina are regular spottaes on my drive, so may well "bag" them at some point.

This is going to turn into those "sorry no pics but today I saw..." threads isnt it? :lol:Weather has been impeccable here for the last week, my morning bike ride to work has been rather pleasant. Theres not much shite on the roads here in the rush hours, have clocked a yellow 204 cabriolet a couple of times and often see a green Renault 4CV during the day which I havent photographed yet but a friend has managed to capture on cameraphone. However the mk1 Ibiza that I posted an iffy shot of here some months back has changed hands and is regularly parked in a prominent spot towards the end of my journey, which always brightens up my morning :)

I was behind an E-reg BMW 5-series for a bit, that was the only spot all this morning. I wonder if the concentration of old cars is higher in different places? Seems like other people on here seem to see old stuff a lot more than me - it's a bit of an event for me to see even late 80s stuff.

LOL - I know. the Mini was parked up at one of those quick tyres places (ATS i think) and the Alfa Sud I have never seen before, but the cortina and mantra i do see regulaly - will keep camera phone at ready tomorrow then....

My non-pic spots this week include a Jaguar S-Type on Tuesday, a meaty Ford Capri on Tuesday and Wednesday but sod all this morning. Maybe because it was too foggy to actually see...

Twice this week on the way to work I have been in the company of a seriously ratty looking MGB (GT?) L reg, bumperless in white with at least one blue door, driven very enthusiastically, always disappears into the distance once we get onto the dual carriageway (but if it's a 3.5 that's hardly surprising!). Has weird (faulty?) indicators that stay on constantly during the manoeuvre rather than flashing.

The Al Read show on BBC7

You have a digital radio in your car?! Anyhoo, I was wandering round on my lunch break today when a flatbed truck with some random scrap on pulled up beside me. I thought it was an old generator or something on the back but on closer inspection it was the rotten, mangled and incomplete remains of a Messerchmitt 3 wheeler! I did take a pic but I don't know how to work the zoom on my phone so it's rubbish and not worth uploading...

My dad had one of those early 80's Datsun/Nissan vans (cabstar?) with the flatbed. We used to regularly sit in the back on the wah home from school. I also remember us waving to a policecar who was driving behind us and them waving back. :) We'd be with social services today if that happened!

I've had a digital radio in my car for years. It cost me £130 in 2005, which wasn't much more than you'd pay for an FM stereo from a manufacturer you've heard of. I've got a Pure Highway in my van too.I believe Ted's in-car DAB is rather more in the Autoshite mould though. :D

Assuming it's a Mantra Rancho or a Mantra Simca Bagheera or Murena

Opel Mantra, surely

Yes, much more chance of that tbh

 Yes, sorry, Opel mantra is right.DAB radio is a £15 bright pink Alba affair from TJ hughes sticky velcroed to the dash and powered via the fag lighter socket - rather usefully it also has a clock on it as the one of the dash reads 18:88 o'clock constantly. Reception, even in Backpool Bus Stations multistory car park is excellent and the volume is loud enough to be heard over the rattly donkey of the Micra.
