My new daily.

£450~ for a LUK clutch/DMF kit & £150 to fit.

Yes it's mapped, I'm over the moon with it. Really is lovely to drive!

I spoke to the previous owner today who owned it for 5 years prior to part exchanging it to a garage who obviously sold it/auctioned it to the trader I swapped with.

He purchased it back in 2011, said he had no problems with it & that it's a great car he just got a newer model which is reassuring!

I appreciate some of you don't appreciate this thread but I do also have a shite car, just thought it might be OK to post pics of my daily too.. Sorry, I thought the forum was a little more welcoming if I'm honest! Shame.

Anyway, I'm very happy with the car but won't mention it again. I'll stick to the shite 306.

Oi loikes new cars and Oi loikes old cars.

Ignore the odd twat on here - they know nutteeng.

I like that a lot. I'm pretty staunchly anti-diesel but if forced into one I reckon on making peace with one of these.

Nicely swapped!

Maybe, but sometimes it's interesting hearing about running a modern from an autoshite perspective.

Myne costs less to run than my bangernomics Mondeo MK3 or Puma 1.7 did, that's true pence per mile cost as well, I am sad enough to keep it all on a spreadsheet. I am fully aware that a DMF/Injectors/Turbo is £1k a pop but residuals are so strong on these that its worth the risk.

I'm not willing to sacrifice the performance, comfort and economy of a modern like this just to keep something unloved and different on the road for 25k miles a year... I can do that at weekends on a 2nd/3rd/4th car

is the 325D a six pot?

Yes, de-tuned 330d. ~200bhp standard (usual BMW lies on book bhp figures to fill gaps in the range) and ~250bhp with a remap and DPF delete

I heard a clearly tuned and newish 530D taking off and it sounded great, is the 325D a six pot?

325d of that era will be - it will be a 3 litre lump (detuned). Same as what was in my old 525d.

Six pots are much better, the 520d I bought to replace the 525 was a major disappointment

Edit - Liggle beat me to it!

I'd say that's a decent swap. You're out of a Poxhall and into a BMW.

Ignore the negative twats on here. They're bang out of order for trying to ruin your day - and that's exactly what they're trying to do. 'He's got a nice car, stone him'. Cockwombles.

Obviously a bit divisive but I like a thread with some pictures of cars and a bit of writing about said cars.

Slightly biased as I'd probably drive something like this myself if had a bit more $$$ and slightly larger plums.

I've got a vaguely relevant Swapz based story here:

I recently had my Subaru stolen and part of the claim process is a bloke coming round to interview you about the car, the theft etc, etc.

Anyway they ask how and where you got the car. I patiently explained that I found it on a website called swapz, arranged a p/x with a man I think was called Mohamed, drove down to a Toys'R'Us just off the M5 near Birmingham and did the deal there.

I further had to explain that the reason the logbook for the car stated the previous owner's address was "Unconfirmed, evidence available at DVLA Swansea" was  because I put the address he gave me on the logbook and it was clearly made up.

The insurance man looked at me like this was slightly* dodgy but dutifully wrote it in the statement.

Anyway I thought the car was a bit of a barg but then the clutch went after about 500 miles so by the time I'd done that and a few sundry bits like brakes it was probably just an OK deal.

I think it's a nice car, but it's not very autoshite.

Neither are particularly Autoshite, but we're all car freaks or we wouldn't be here!

That BMW interior is rather lovely. Mmmmmmm, nice.

Whilst the Beemer itself may not fit the technical description of shite, I still reckon it's worthy of being here. A swapped car with potential (and actual) issues is surely the kind of thing this place is about. Not to mention that in 10 years we'll all probably spend every free hour we get outside in the pissing rain replacing DMFs and the like on stuff like this.

I'm also interested to see somebody put to the test the usual OMG ALL COMMONRAILS SUFFER INSTANT DEATH trope that modern diesels seem to incite on internet forums.
