Dave_Q Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 Glossop-sur-Mer again? Yes indeed, the Discount Executive Cow Grilling Hut (aka Wetherspoons) has been warned. chaseracer, Junkman and Ghosty 3
Ghosty Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Glossop-sur-Mer again? I believe that's the intention.
bub2006 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 In for a penny. I may pop over. Time? I'll probably be In work gear
Junkman Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Glossop-sur-Mer... Sadly it would require a lot more activity from the Granadaland Greenhouse Gassers to improve the climate to that extent. Anyway, see you tonight. chaseracer 1
chaseracer Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Sadly it would require a lot more activity from the Granadaland Greenhouse Gassers to improve the climate to that extent. I'm bringing the Rover back, remember... Ghosty and Junkman 2
Cleon-Fonte Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 I think you'd have to buy an entire fleet of XUDs and VW D24s and run them on liquified coal dust to even make an impact on the climate round here. Whilst simultaneously running a load of old exhaust-free Gardners flat out in your back garden on the most carbon-emitting diesel available.
loserone Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Think this is the third time I've thought "I could probably make that, where is Glossop?" before looking and seeing it's two and a half hours drive south. Have fun with the LHM stains everyone!
3VOM Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Giving this a bump to plan for next time. I've missed the last two due to work overrunning. By the time the next one comes around I should be in a different job and more likely to be able to get to wherever it is, assuming Glossop, Stockport or nearby.
bub2006 Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 I may have to give it a swerve unless there is a possibility of finding another meeting point. Took me two hours to get 50 mile last time!
Junkman Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 I may have to give it a swerve unless there is a possibility of finding another meeting point. Took me two hours to get 50 mile last time! It's been a while since I had some shite like that. The haunted Rover could easily beat it, though. 50 miles often included a few hours of trying to coax it back from an ftp. Anyway, the next scheduled* dead cow nom nomage should be 04-10, no?I shall be there for some quality time, if I can hike a ride, since bringing a car is pretty pointless.
bub2006 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I came from derby, traffic was horrendous.
Dave_Q Posted September 26, 2016 Author Posted September 26, 2016 I've changed the title accordingly for the 4th. Open to suggestions for another meeting point, but if it's much further south I'd be out. Junkman: pls bring a car. I definitely remember both looking at and talking to you about your new P6, but the conversation quickly strayed onto the monkey circus hoop jumping procedure aka the Doovla, so we may not have discussed how lovely it is. Also, as you know, I'm always late to these things, when I arrived the general gatherage was elsewhere so I assumed I had just missed out on the group inspection/appreciation of the car. Offer still stands to actually lick your Talbot right in it's beige bits if you should decide to grace us with it's presence. chaseracer and Junkman 2
Ghosty Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 4th is okay by me. I hear lamb shank is (back) on the Wetherspoons menu now...
The Moog Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 I am not going to be able o make this as now have lectures until 8 30 on tuesdays
Squire_Dawson Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Would it be possible to have a future meeting further north, i.e. closer to Manchester for folk who live farther afield? stillOrange 1
For Fiats Sake Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Hopelessly tired with working six days a week at the mo, can we meet in november and burn some chod?
Cleon-Fonte Posted October 3, 2016 Posted October 3, 2016 Would it be possible to have a future meeting further north, i.e. closer to Manchester for folk who live farther afield? We have been banging on about doing other Northern Powerhouse meets in between the Glossop ones ever since the first. Do you have a place in mind (I would suggest somewhere but Ashton is about as far north as my knowledge of the area goes)?
chaseracer Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Looks like ah'm oot for the neet. See you at TEH OKSHUNS FEAT. SCOTOSHITE.
blguy1975 Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 I concur with Squire Dawson ,Glossop is a strange place to be honest . two place that jump to mind for me are The Golden Lion JUNC 16 m60 serves food till 7pm http://www.joseph-holt.com/pubs/view/golden-lion-swintonand The Morning Star Wardley ,closed for refurbishment but will be fully open on Oct 28th big car park serves food till 7pm ,Quiz Night ever wed night ,http://www.joseph-holt.com/pubs/view/morning-star Not far from Junc 15 M60only suggestion I am throwing out there . stillOrange 1
chaseracer Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Places that STOP serving food at 7pm are very little use... Cleon-Fonte, strangeangel and bub2006 3
