Campervan or caravan. Friday night poser.

Well the decision has been made, and within the last 12 hours I have purchased a Saab 9-5 turbo auto estate, a 1997 Elddis and a genuine used SAAB towbar. All in different places and all have to come together and be in Durham Saturday afternoon, with an overnight stay in NE England Sat night.

It's all going Hannibal Smith. For now.

I have had the same dilemma as I fancy doing a bit of touring around when I finish work at the end of the month. The main problem for me is that I absolutely hate the interiors on nearly every camper/motorhome/caravan that I've seen.

Logically I should go for a caravan and tow it slowly behind the Land Rover, I'm happy enough towing but I have been thinking  about a campervan/small motorhome just to use it for the grand tour and sell it again in the summer.

The downsides of both is that I want something suitable to take the dogs with me and looking around, most sites don't like people with multiple dogs.

I have decided to put my money where my big mouth is, nobody seems to build anything I like, so I shall build my own. My requirements are simple, it must have proper chairs, a proper bed, a wood-burner/coal stove, a drinks cabinet, bookshelves and a sink/kettle.

I was tempted by this

But having got the dimensions it's just too small

So I'm afraid I have bought this to drag behind the Land Rover

I won't be collecting it for a couple of weeks, until I finish work, and there will be a few basics to sort before fitting it out, I'm looking at it as a bit of a project, whether I will actually want to use it in the end I have no idea, but I'm sure I could pass it on to some other idiot if I don't like it.

That's a bold purchase.

Should annoy Caravan Clubbers no end.

That is excellent. Need to put some sort of dormer window in the side though. With net curtains on. Then try to join the caravan club.
