D'you reckon I'm doing the right thing having it painted and getting the broken bits sorted? I know they are rare now so it seems ashame to let it get any worse. If I don't save it now I think it's game over for it.....

The other knackered bits are:

Drivers front seat backrest adjuster

Dial for the computer is erratic (probably just contact cleaner needed)

One fag burn on back seat

Drivers side bolster worn through

Central locking not working

I can get to these over time but feeling the urge to get it all done to be honest.

^ Do it!  Putting a load of effort and/or cash into a once common, now rare car that's worth £200 before the restoration and £300 after is 100% the Autoshite way.

Don't expect to get rich.  But be happy.

Too bloody right. I've only ever lost money on cars and motorbikes so it seems quite natural to be fully embracing my evolution into a true Shitter.

When is the next meet I can bring it to? :)

Clean 480s will be bona fide classics one day. The 440s and 460s....er....probably not.

I loved my ES although it wasn't particularly sporting (or quick).

Roffle numbers: ALL OF THEM!

Much love for that!

With regards to the jobs, I'd look out for some nice cow to replace the standard seats. Central locking probably just a minor electrical gremlin.

Do them, or they'll be those little irrating things that slowly cause you to fall out of love with it.

On second thoughts...... leave them alone, sell car to me!  :-D

Blimey that's the only one of these I seen for years. Did it come with the standard fishtank in the boot they all had from new?

What a fine looking thing that is, a pretty timeless design.

That's a really nice car, and easily well worth spending a bit on.

I can't actually remember the last time I saw one.

Get it fixed. The black with red-stripe look is absolute perfection, and a completely clean and working specimen is already creeping up in value, although they deserve to go a lot higher given its warranted designation as a classic.

I picked mine up and sold it when they were rock bottom. £550 bought, 13 months or so of motoring, £550 sold. I reckon the same car now would probably fetch a grand with the right advert and audience.

no, no, no, no, no!

Bring it round to mine, let me reimburse you of 200 of the queens finest, take you for a beer and drop you off at the train station for your troubles...  :-D

Lovely shape, these.

Princess Anneka of Gothenburg had one, you know.
