Why would you do that..........?

Volvos do that now as well, as do many cars. Interesting to think that the entire front end of a 7/940 can be removed in about 25 minutes to repair any minor crash damage but a new V40 will require an expensive trip to the dealer.

Being hit with a 940 isn't going to do the pedestrian much good right enough.

I take it then a Megane with a dead starter motor is scrap then. There'll be loads on eBay 'just needs starter'...

Appears only to be certain engines - the 2.0l Turbo. From the enthusiasts forum, it looks like it's possible to change without engine removal, but subframe+exhaust+etc and other stuff has to be dropped to aid it.

Autodata reckoned only 0.85hrs to change on them - some garages are going to get a shock!

Fuse and relay boxes upside down under the dash somewhere, behind a little door that is moulded with the circuit identifier map for a different version of the car.

Bentley has its fuse box so mounted. A remnant from when they fitted airbags I presume but if you want to see a fuse, you need an able bodied minion to do so! Also, the OBD port is in the (new position) glovebox,
