I am trying to arrange to get there for the auction but if not and the Clio looks like it'll trundle for a couple of months (I seem to have a spare mechanically sound car) I'll give one of you lot the £100 deposit beforehand by bank transfer to lob a £280 bid in.   If that wins I think there's the £100 deposit on the hammer and days grace for me to get there n to pay the balance + buyers fee and drive away.

Just hooked up the battery on the Mercury, fired up, de-misted it, ready to roll! Just put half a tank of fuel in it, should just about make it the 10 miles or so to the hill shouldn't it!?

Great to meet you guys today, 'twas a lovely day.

 

We even had a midlands gatecrasher!

Absolute hero deciding to make the 150 odd mile trip in his absolutely lovely Citroen. All for a burger and cup of tea!

 

I didn't get many pics, but Eddy and FPB got some which I'm sure they'll post up.

Anyway, hope those who carry on to the auction have a good time and I can't wait for the next meet up.

I travelled to Scotland for dinner so Portsmouth for a burger is a walk in the park.

 

Pics will have to wait till I get back home.

But a brilliant day was had with much meetings of new southern shiters!

Fpb is a total hero, coming all this way on impulse!  Not only that, he's staying over and having a day out on the IOW tomorrow.

Dan is a total hero, dragging his lovely Mercury out for me to slaver over.

Everyone else, well it was great to be able to put faces to names, I'm so glad to have met you all.  I had a great away-from-baby day, thank you all.

I'm on the laptop so can't post up photos until I get home, but I did manage a few.

 

Pointing and laughing at the auction took me back!  Oh boy what a pleasant way to pass a couple of hours.  There were two or three I might have bought too if I'd been in the market.  Oh and had the money of course.
