Aftermarket Stereos

Noo, it's all done within the app.

That's a shame the best thing about radio down loader was it just downloaded the track to MP3 which you could keep for as long as you like and easily copy onto a USB stick so you could play it through your head unit.

I have dashboard OCD, so any aftermarket head unit I get has to match the interior lighting.

Leon's stereo is fairly disgusting. It does sat-nav, DAB and bluetooth streaming to make my onerous 70mph trips down the A1 just that bit more connected. I reckon it'll dislodge the trim up sooner or later 'cos the bass is pretty heavy even when dialled out. It complements the raging death xenon headlights nicely. I leave them on dipped.

I'm looking at getting a Kenwood BT49 for the MGF; there's nothing wrong with the Tevion Senor Shitemushy included with it at all, it just looks terrible. So far my 'not broke, don't replace' mantra has won out.

You've got me spending my bonus already, haven't even got it yet!

I am getting tired of my ALDI head unit though. The handsfree calling is shit, the USB port can only take 6gb of music (can the PURE one take a larger capacity?)

One of these would look nice too (my aerial looks crap, it get bashed about on car park entrances etc)

Back in the early 90's I bought a goodmans pullout cassette radio from Argos think it was about £50 which was about a 5th of the value of the car it was fitted to!!

The security feature of removal involved the whole unit pulling out of the dash, not just the faceplate, the entire unit.!!

Coupled with a fine pair of audioline shelf speakers it sounded like you were at a rave.

Well, in a room next to a rave, in a box, with earplugs in.

Put up with it till someone broke into the car and stole it together with the speakers!!

Perhaps they liked listening to rave music at 100 paces away too.

Fast forward to 2015 and a nice Sony xplod media player now resides in the mrs's mgf.

Features Bluetooth music streaming, hands free voice dialling, sub and aux input.

Very nice unit too.

Had dab in the vauxhall mokka we had but never used it.

You don't want my JVC (as above) do you? I use it with a 32Gb stick, and can stick an iPod on the other USB port if needed. No problems with handsfree. Only changing as I want DAB!

Knowing that twat Moyles is on there is more than enough reason to not bother.....

Not a fan, but then I'm not listening for the 'pleasure' of hearing the DJs!

Does anyone have a link to those Chinese generic car MP3 players. I want one to rip apart to slot into an old HMV.

Tempting, but I quite fancy dab now too! Won't be able to afford it this month or next anyway, so won't ask you how much you may want for it...

I have a pioneer that changes colours. Because I have no OCD and also no taste I have it set to rainbow though them. It's delightfully tacky.

I used to have a lovely pioneer that did the same! Deh something, had Bluetooth but nothing else. It had the same shade of horrible orange my 206 had for the clocks so fitted right in!

Was sad when that broke, it had a million settings for the audio as well

I've managed to get my old late 90s Pioneer working with DAB...

...and USB, but not (yet) able to connect both at the same time :-(

Motherly_Micra has a Sony EXPLOD or whatever in it, I bought it back in the day when the need for a CD function in the car arose (mostly because I was mostly using it) the original radio was utter shite, a tape player with no reverse button, only a fast-forward.

I should have held out and bought a K12 CD unit to keep in with the OEM but Ma is so used to the Sony do it stays.

I personally found the Sony easy to use, simple functions and no need for magnifying glass or nowt.

The Merc has my all-singing all-dancing Red 'n' Black Pioneer DEHsummat or other... a right bloody faff to use, too many functions, multiple usage buttons etc... its bloody powerful but not an easy thing to use. I ran an AUX cable from the back so I could play music from my phone/tablet. Course now the bloody car is damaged thanks to some arsehole who couldn't be arsed to use his mirrors.

Sterling of broken radiator and coolant usage has an original Philips R960 or whatever it is complete with steering wheel controls and a rear 6 x CD changer. Yes, posh bastard I am.

No love for Kenwood (Chefs?)

I've got a Kenwood jacket.

I've also got a Kenwood KDC 3031 which I got with a bunch of radios from VeryTallBrad some years back.

The Granada has an aftermarket stereo fitted (with self tapping screws). I've managed to find a Ford single DIN CD player that will be going in.
