BorniteIdentity Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Blimey. Ken really wants to win it. So that's 35 sold and only 24 remai...... Oh Tamworthbay and Bear 2
Jim Bell Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Is this £350 yet? UltraWomble, sporty-shite and Jazoli 3
purplebargeken Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Yeah, oh indeed. Would buy 21 tickets if I had the money
Bear Posted June 14, 2016 Author Posted June 14, 2016 Is this £350 yet? No, but I'd probably be tempted by £550 if the extent of me "not having to do anything with it" includes you disconnecting the battery from the charger, putting it back in the car, and driving away...
maxpower Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 these beetles always looked to me like someone got a ford KA and stuck a airhose into the fuel tank and blew very hard vulgalour, Cavcraft and Jim Bell 3
crapcarcollector Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Free bump for the raffle beetle !!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
purplebargeken Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Why raffle so slow? This is an ace yellow modern Beetle. Ah, just answered own question.
Bear Posted June 22, 2016 Author Posted June 22, 2016 Yeah, raffle is painfully slow. I think it'll just have to be eBay or something, the tickets are probably too expensive
stripped fred Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I think you'd have more luck on ebay either an auction or best offer?
Bear Posted June 22, 2016 Author Posted June 22, 2016 Probably. I'd have to fix the passenger window though or deal with eBay idiots. TBH I'm at the stage of setting fire to everything except the Jaguar and SLK and running away laughing. flat4alfa and purplebargeken 2
stripped fred Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 I've sold a few cars on eBay and never had a problem to be honest. You can minimise the idiot count with best offer too. Fix the window if you have time but I'm sure it wouldn't be a deal breaker for most people.
flat4alfa Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I'm at the stage of setting fire to everything except the Jaguar and SLK and running away laughing. Photos or it didn't happen
Bear Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 It hasn't happened yet, but that's probably because I'm in work and took the Jaguar in so got calmed down
eddyramrod Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Yeah, raffle is painfully slow. I think the tickets are probably too expensive Mine too, but at least you've sold some!
Bear Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 True! It's the usual thing though - when you don't want to sell it, everyone wants it, when you do, no-one does I'm still open to swaps, too, just not anything that's going to add to the stress.
Jim Bell Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Is the passenger glass in the door or taped/wedged up?
Bear Posted June 23, 2016 Author Posted June 23, 2016 Wedged up, still slides fine, going to take the trim off this weekend and undoubtedly find the usual broken clip nonsense. The regulator is a bit noisy but I'm not sure if that's just because things aren't in place so it all gets to move around more than it should. I just held it in place with a folded up magic tree and radio removal key, and it's been parked in the garage ever since so hasn't had a chance to get drenched.
Bear Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 Right, I have too many things to deal with - £600 as it stands, will take something in PX if necessary as long as it's MoTd and stands a chance of me getting rid of it when I've sorted out the proper daily car Lack of raffle enthusiasm means I don't see the point, but if people still want to fill the numbers - tenner a ticket now.
Bear Posted July 3, 2016 Author Posted July 3, 2016 Right. Had enough of this bloody thing, and I will never buy another VAG group car. Started working on the window, clips broken, door trim cracked - I know a previous owner has had all the mechanical sympathy of a gorilla, but this is just frustrating. Then there's the way VW make those door mechanisms. I am not up to that fight, I just want this thing out of my sight. Nothing's changed except the door trims are removed and I've found that the fault with the passenger window is probably explained by a load of regulator cable that is escaping from the hole where the motor goes in. Swap the mechanisms and you're probably sorted. £400. Bargain MoTd Beetle if you're used to modern VAG stuff. I just don't have the time to get this involved in a car I'm selling for not much money.
Bear Posted July 3, 2016 Author Posted July 3, 2016 It comes with the door trims in the boot, btw, I'm not putting it back together - and the passenger window is currently inside the door, but we can try and sort that.

Bear Posted July 3, 2016 Author Posted July 3, 2016 I'll take £350 if the fucking thing is No Longer My Problem this afternoon.
Bear Posted July 3, 2016 Author Posted July 3, 2016 Like, PayPal, an address for the change of owner, and a plan for someone to DRIVE IT AWAY FOR THE LOVE OF COD.
BorniteIdentity Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Paging WW. Patient awaiting transfer to convalescing facilities.
Bear Posted July 3, 2016 Author Posted July 3, 2016 FWIW, it starts, stops, goes around corners just fine. It's just all the trim and things like windows falling in then being a miserable PITA of a job when I have so many other demands on my time.
