K SEAL- Kalimex Seal Up.... anybody used this stuff?

Hi all,

I've got an XM with a 2.1 diesel donk installed. It seems to be leaking combustion gasses into the cooling system. I could do with it on the road for a few months and I'll do the headgasket when I get the chance (or pay someone to do it).

Are either of the above snake oils any good? I've read differing reviews.

The coolant already has flecks of copper floating around in it, so I'm guessing somethings been tried before.

TIA!

Not sure about head gaskets but used it to seal water pump leaks in my 18 and it worked for a good few thousand miles.

I used k seal for a heater matrix on my old Audi 80 when it developed a leak and the car suffered from air locks due to the problem ( I think it had been there long before I bought the car) and it cured the leak for the two years I had the car.

I even flushed the coolant system afterwards and changed the antifreeze and the heater still worked like a mini furnace and it never used a drop of coolant or had an airlock again.

So I really recommend the stuff but I've never used it on a headgasket but it's got fantastic reviews online and for less than a tenner you've nothing to lose.

Yep,

I've had to use it twice now due to the bottom of the rad on the KV6 being a tad crumbly. Seemingly it seems to be working well. I've not heard a bad word said about K-seal yet.

The rad on the Volvo had a drip which I tried unsucsessfully to seal from the outside, tipped some K seal in & it's been fine for the last couple of months with no coolant loss  :-)

Didn't work for me. Supposed to work better if you remove the thermostat and pour contents in there instead of header tank. It's one of those products that works for some folks and not others. You pays your money and takes a chance.

All I'll say is have you ever seen a K-Seal'd rad after it's been pulled off a car? Not pretty. Personally I'd only use it if I was waiting for a car to die (that's you, green 820 Fastback) or was planning on scrapping it in a few months anyway.
