UltraWomble Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 This is probably a very odd question, but can you photograph the rear of the centre armrest console - Im intrigued to know if yours is blank or has a power socket.

dean36014 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Sorry for delay in replying the joys of working nights, just got home. Only in wyken near devon pub. Going to see if I can a quote when i get up to get it moved. Had a mate with a recovery truck but unfortunately its off the road atm, so that idea is out the window. Definitely interested if i can get it moved at a reasonable cost.

dean36014 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Well, for some reason day insurance for a 46 year old bloke, clean licence, full no claims is coming in at over £45!!! No recovery places have come back to me so I'm afraid I'm out.
UltraWomble Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 How odd, Ive never paid more than £23 for day insurance before. Hmm, I might be collecting a canoe next week from near Newport - Train to Cov, pick up Almera, chemical weld, 5L of cheapo oil, drive to Newport, lash canoe to roof, try and make it back to Preston before the donkey expires? Sounds like a recipe for my wife doing this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U51mUFpTFmU Slartibartfast, bigfella2 and The Moog 3

UltraWomble Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 hi mate, i managed to get a look today, it doesn't have a cigar lighter on the rear of the centre console, just a blanking plate which pops off, so i assume that is the same as yours ?Yeah, sadly - how odd the handbook says it should have one - I thought I was missing something - mind you it wouldnt be too hard to run a lead from the dash to the console and install one.
beko1987 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 My xm had 2 fag lighters, one in the dash and one behind the handbrake. Was gr9 for charging my phone and sat nav at the same time. A boot one is where it's at though, possibly the best bit about the meriva is the '12v power supply' in the boot!

A boot one is where it's at though, possibly the best bit about the meriva is the '12v power supply' in the boot!Ive only ever used the C8 boot one for inflating the rear tyres on the C8 ( the lead on the compressor isnt long enough) or inflating air beds. But the one in the BX centre console was used for all sorts, in car DVD player, charge phone, car vac.Loads.
beko1987 Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Funnily enough the only thing I've plugged into the boot is the tyre compressor to pump up pram tyres as well! We don't own a car fridge to use in there
Lord Sterling Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 If anyone wants this, I could stick a days worth of insurance pick up and leave it in a quiet side street by mine until someone can sort taking it on. Wouldn't mind taking this on myself in all honesty, but I have too many cars as it is and the Sterling isn't dead just yet...
sporty-shite Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Will the sump bung up with chemical metal for a 100 mile mission?
blackbart Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 I would assume with a few top ups, that it would get you home. just by keeping an eye on the oil mate. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
blackbart Posted December 22, 2015 Author Posted December 22, 2015 i have drove the car for a few weeks with the current leak, just by keeping it topped up, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem, if anyone who is local (ish).hope this helps ?
blackbart Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 post new year bump, before i scrap it ...£50 anyone. even for spares?
UltraWomble Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 If you were closer etc etc I would be all over this like a dose of the clap for some spare bits for mine.GLWTS
Guest Lord Sward Posted February 3, 2016 Posted February 3, 2016 I think theres a passenger airbag recall out on that Almera.
23rdian Posted February 8, 2016 Posted February 8, 2016 Fup me, £50 is good. I'd have this if I hadn't already bought the Skoda off here/had somewhere to put it. I've literally nowhere but it looks too good to scrapper. GWLS
blackbart Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 i'm just tring to hold off scrapping it, in the hope someone on here can make some use of it ? but empty pockets mean it's gotta go soon if no one wants it. #save an almera lol.
