Tyre Dot Codes

As I own modern shit which doesn't come as standard with a spare tyre or even a space saver but one of these useless tyre sealant inflation kits, I purchased a spare alloy off the bay of E and had it returned and powder coated black so it doesn't look out of place when fitted to the car in lieu of one of its original wheels if ever I get a puncture. Anyway the wheel refurb place put a new tyre on the wheel for me as well, just a budget as it'll hardly be used and I couldn't justify a branded expensive tyre to sit in the boot 99% of the time, so the tyre they put on it was a Fullrun FW200 m+s tyre. It has 8mm of tread and looks brand new but I cannot see the usual dot code on it consisting of 4 numbers E.g. 2615 which would signify it was manufactured week 26 of 2015. It says DOT but then has the following: LBDN HAO after the DOT

I can't find anywhere online any reference to DOT codes done as letters rather than numbers, can anyone offer any advice on how I'd go about finding when this tyre was manufactured ?

If you google using American spelling ie "tire dot codes" you should find some help.

The date code is only on one side of the tyre - maybe you arent looking at the right thing?

DOT code is always seven or eight digits and is nothing to do with manufacturing date. It's also moulded into the tyre rather than stamped.

The bloke at the tyre place, where I'd taken two company car wheels for new tyres to be fitted, reckon that he needed the DOT codes as it told the lease company how old the tyres were - I guess they get a lot of people swapping tyres onto their company car to then have them replaced for free.

He actually needed all four as well, not just the two being replaced.

Tyres fitted 'under contract'.... At a TyreServices place I was in once - loads of used tyres on a rack at the back - I asked if they were the 'part worn'?? Guy says they are kept for the contractor/rep to come and do 'checks' for warranty swaps....

Yeah, he scrawled the name of the lease company on the two tyres and put them out the back.... But he definitely said the DOT codes were needed so the lease company knew if they were the right age tyres. Mind you, he was the grumpiest tyre fitter in the world and he was possibly just trying to invent problems to give him reason to be grumpier.

Whenever I have to authorise tyre claims via 1-link it asks for the DOT codes but makes no mention of tyre age. I think they just demand accurate and genuine codes to confirm that we're not just making shit up. Also if they actually keep lists of codes to hand (like, if they were doing their job properly, you never know, they might be) they can identify and prevent examples of wrong-tyre-for-car.

Like the numerous run-flat cars that have turned out not to be so-equipped after slipping the net somehow.

The DOT codes are added to the master mould after the tyres have been DOT approved. The date stamp is added on the production line, after, well, being produced.
