For the last few weeks I've been helping with the rather sad task of clearing the house my fathers parents lived in for over 50 years after the passing away of my grandmother after a short battle with cancer. Anyway, we found some paperwork relating to the first car my father owned, a well used Austin Ruby registration number: JY7583 that his father had taken out a credit agreement to buy for him. How do you check if this vehicle survives (I'd be amazed if it did!)

There is a thing for doing this on the dvla website.However, I think they are still in the process of transferring paper records onto computer, as my dads old Fordson truck which had been SORNed for 20years didn't appear!
