AXrescuer Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Assuming it's not yours........have you seen this? http://retrorides.proboards86.com/index ... read=55349
Hertz Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I really don't get the point in this rat look malarkey? Fair play to him for fixing it, he obviously gets his kicks out of doing it For me I'd get my kicks out of buying it for £75 in the first place then getting as many miles out of it without spending any cash on it. That would be boring though wouldn't it
Louise2cv Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I didn't think rat-look was meant to look so contrived anyway? Does nowt for me, but whatever makes him happy I suppose.
r.welfare Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Meh. I'm with Hertz, but then perhaps I'm getting old when I see no point in stripping the paint from bits of my car and driving it to the seaside? Hats off to his repair skills though, he's gone above/beyond what most folk would when faced with those breakages - some self-induced but also some typical of an old 405
Mr Lobster Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Yeh, the whole remove the paint and let it go rusty thing seems a bit odd to me. But at least its been kept on the road.Like the wheels though!
MrRegieRitmo Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I guess what it comes down to is that's what the difference is between here & R-R!How is Mr Weasel involved?
AXrescuer Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 I think it look's crap to be honest.Ignore the Pog bit, I meant to flag this for r.welfare, I just got my posts mixed up.
lovejoy Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 TOTALLY hilarious; but he must be a sucker for punishment. Is there not a lot else to do down in the wilds of Cornwall (The We*t Country) at this time of year ?
Milford Cubicle Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I like it. It's not overdone like most rat look attempts and is a good way of making what's still a fairly common car look distinctive. My 405 is a bit shat-look at the moment with mismatched wheels front to back and covered in mud and grease stains.
bigstraight6 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Several hundred points out of ten for the mechanical determination, but minus all points for the pointless 'ratlook' scene bollocks
Milford Cubicle Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 What's scene about a 405 having mild rat look applied to it? Fair enough if it was a Passat or something.
Pete-M Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Mustard mitt, some of the 'scene' rat-look stuff is pretty well done. Some of these are, I think, pretty bloody nice. http://www.retroscenemag.com/default.aspx?tag=/rat+look
Parky Posted February 22, 2009 Posted February 22, 2009 Jeez, this guy deserves some sort of legend status! If I had those faults on my car, I would definitely have binned it. Full respect to him for that. Not sure about the rat look, seems like an ideal way to render your car unsellable.....
