1992 Fiat Uno 1.0 i.e £595 West Mids.

Hi all,

Me and my brother are sadly selling our little MK2 1992 K reg Uno 1.0 i.e 3dr with Mot till April 24th 16. Will be sorn as from next week but still insured. Finished in Black which suits these well with grey interior. Car has covered 58,859 miles as of today but won't increase much if all before been sorn.

The back story to this Car was that it was sold new to a couple in Sutton Coldfield by AFG Great Bar in Birmingham. At some point the Car was transfered into the Wifes name prior to us buying it.

We brought the car almost a year ago from a trader who brought the car along with a few other px cars direct from a Honda dealership where she had traded this in for a new Jazz after having a minor scrape to the n/s front corner. So decided she needed to upgrade to a car with power steering etc.

We got the car home and me and my brother sorted out a secondhand headlight an indicator as these were broken an hooked the front bumper back to it's mounting.

Then my brother used this everyday for 3/4 months of this year before switching to another one of our cars. Then we put it in my name as my Cavalier is off the road so had no car myself at the time to use, so 4 keepers in total on the logbook.

During our ownership we have had the following work done either by us or a friend so although there no dates we have receipts for most of parts we brought for it.

Genuine Fiat Oil Filter +  Oil Change.

New Air Filter.

Cambelt kit inc waterpump. Only a 1,000 miles covered at most since this was done.

New antifreeze.

New Valve Stem seals.

New Rocker gasket.

New Clutch slave cylinder and gearbox linkage bushes.

2 x Tyres 135/80/13 and one part worn tyre on correct rim.

New pair of tailgate struts.

New Front Brake Discs + Pads.

New Starter Motor.

Replaced front cracked bumper with new pattern correct spec bumper.

Fitted pair of new Clear Front indicators will supply correct amber versions with the car as well.

Removed missmatch £10quids wheel trims and repainted original wheels an centre caps in silver.

New plain Number plates as front original one was cracked. My brother has since brought a new set of Correct old font AFG Dealer plates which will come with the Car unfitted.

[still have original old plates as well.]

Fitted new front speakers as old ones were toast.

New front Windscreen fitted by Autoglass via Insurance as old one cracked one sunny day same as are MK1 Uno did a few months before.

Sure there some other jobs I've missed too but if I remenber anything important then I'll add it as I go.

The main thing to mention is about July this year we had both rear suspension turrets replaced due to the dreaded tin worm. All cut out and welded properly to as new.

It a shame it's all covered up inside by the carpet panels have only got pictures of it from inside the wheel arch wells as put it back togther in a hurry so we could get down the pub!

The car is in Good Condition for it's age has the usual minor dreaded carpark dings and scratches but cleans up nicely only bad bits are one small rust hole about 50p size on the drivers rear arch can supply a repair panel and passanger door has signs of the seam sealer starting to lift on the inner frame.

Drivers seat is torn but everything else is fine and works ok. Car will come with original radio cassate fitted not CD player it's currently fitted with.

So if your looking for a tidy Fiat Uno then this could be the one. :-) We want this to go to a good home and not some chav looking to bodge it it into a Turbo replica already had someone intrested looking to do that and they been turned away.

Shitters discount avalible to the right home and we can be flexible with regards to collection etc as it's currently stored in a pokey garage for now.

Car at WS9 area not far from A5 and Junction 10 M6.

Thanks. Gets alot of attention for the right reasons. If it wasn't for the fact we have more cars than available space then I doubt we sell it tbh. Though we got are MK1 Uno 45 Breeze and a 1.1 MK1 Punto 55 EL so got it pretty well covered on the small Fiats. :-)

Please raffle. Roffle. Very noice.

That is a honey of a car and bloody well worth more than the asking price

I've driven one of your other Unos and they really are fun things to drive.

Good luck with sale Mike, if ya need a hand shifting this on or whatever give me a call or PM.

That's gorgeous, where are these lovely uno's popping up from, I've seen a couple of nice ones up for sale recently

That engine bay is hilariously brilliant.

Rest assured that I'd STILL manage to graze my knuckles in there - somehow - despite the odds.

GLWS.

Thanks all for the kind comments it's really appreciated !

There a couple of other Uno's that have sold recently for similar money and I know of one at the minute thats quite scruffy for £500.

These are really underated compared to the Nova, Fiesta, Renault 5 etc with nice an simple engines so grab yourselves a bargain while you can.

As mentioned a Shitters discount is availible to the right home and we can be flexible with regards to collection / full payment etc.

We may consider a cheap upto £250 Mot'd px depending on what you have for a daily winter car to save the Fiorino Van from the salt as well.

Will be sorning this from tomorrow but will be kept insured as it still be availible as backup transport if we need it.

Weekend bump up for the Uno. I know it's a crap time of year to sell it but hey you never know.

Don't forget to un-insure it Burnside. Now if you SORN a car you must not insure it, and visa versa. It's a recent thing called continuous enforcement. They were very crafty and hardly shouted about it. You could be clobbered with a fine if you get caught.

are you sure on this? Most classics are only taxed 6 months but are insured all year. No way I am leaving my pride and joy without insurance.

It's fine to keep it insured whilst it's SORN.

The continuous enforcement is for those cars that continue to be taxed, but aren't insured.

Posted

A car that is on SORN can be insured, but doesn't need to be.

Edit. ^^ What he said.

Thanks for the heads up, gotta say I've not heard of that before. I'll look into it but as Tamworthbay said I wouldn't even consider uninsuring it till it sold, oh well worse comes to the worse I'll tax it again after Xmas and before new year.

I very nearly bought an identical one at one year old as my first proper car. The Fiat dealer in Lincoln had several K-platers for £3995 in '93. Wish I had, would have probably lasted better than the fizzing G-reg 216S I got instead, but the allure of a 1.6 engine and electric sunroof was just too much for the 22-year-old me to resist.

Funny enough my brother looked at a Black K reg Uno 1.0 just like this one in about 2003 ish a little garage had it up for £795 it had about 70,000 or so on the clock they claimed but it was rough with filled arches and rusty doors plus he only offered my brother I think £200 for his very tidy G reg Panda 750L so he wisely passed.

Gotta say a Rover 216 sounds pretty good going for a 1st car. One of the 1st people I knew to pass his test got a MK1 Astra 1.3s which was a rare car even then [2000] an he put some GTE bits on which was doing it compared to the usual 1.0 Metros and Novas etc.

My1st Uno was a MK1 Uno 45s 3dr in what else but black! Brought as my second car in 2001 as a Mot failure for £95. It was a total shed that I spent alot of money on but loved it. Fitted a Sony CD player and Kenwood front speakers. Fitted some MK1 Turbo alloys too and thought it looked the don despite the multi rattlecan and filler repairs that I did to cover up the rust.

To be fair it was a ex Central London Car that had alot of poor accident damage repairs which had done it no favours long before I had it.
