Nobody said it was going to be easy. But I had the belt and it had the part number on it so I thought I was in with a chance.

"We don't do belts"

That's strange, this one has got your name on it.

"We can get you one - what is the reg no?"

No reg no. Its for a marine diesel engine.

"Sorry, can't help"

Anyone got a parts cross reference or is there a website?

Belt size HB1075A

Cheers m'dears.

That number could mean anything, it's probably a 6 ribbed belt so something like 6x1075 but that's just a guess without seeing it.

I'd pop down your local factors and match it up, probably your best bet

1075 would be the length in mm. Is it just a bog standard V belt?

Good news, its a toothed belt but the rest should be easy with that bit of info. :-)

This site might help. I needed two drive belts for the 900T van and had the part number from my microfiche copies...

I put one of them into google and the site comes up with every available alternative...

for example...  http://infopart.org/fiat-4181525-part

Start page...   http://infopart.org/

It's good for spark plugs as well...

That is an excellent site for cars so have saved for future Citroenshite reference. Unfortunately no chapter on marine engines.

Thanks for the offer. Not sure how much movement is available on the alternator bracket. If I get stuck I will PM you.

is it really toothed? or is it a v belt that is cogged to get round corners. PICTURE

IIRC 1075A means 1075 length, A profile which is "normal v belt"

1075C,D,E etc were for varying numbers of ribs.

1075 V belt is a VW transporter 82-86 1.9 petrol alternator belt if you want to go to GSF/ECP etc.

Just to add, this explains the A, B, C etc profile a bit more easily:

You would almost certainly be able to get the exact, or close enough belt from an industrial supplier.
