Megane scenic route.

Been offered a Megane Scenic 54 plate with 29k on the clock, not for me as I enjoy winter evenings sat in the house drinking beer as opposed to trying to solve electrical problems on the driveway or one of the myriad of other problems it likely will bring. What at a guess would I likely get for selling one on? It's 54 plate, new shape 1.4 pez. 29k on the clock?

Low miles but unappealing even to a raffle addict like myself.  I'd guess even £400 would be a struggle.

I'm two minds if I can give £400 to punt it on for £800 as its tidy looking motor.

My in-laws paid £4k for one from the same year with a 1.6 pez engine and 40k on the clocks, against my advice - this was 2 years ago. I actually don't think its gone majorly wrong yet though.

 

Someone with kids will take it off your hands for 4 figures I reckon.

I reckon assuming the bodywork/interior matches the mileage, you'd be looking at £850-£1,000 for it. They're very popular (they aren't actually too bad to drive) and it'll probably find a home quite quickly.

There's no way I'd be having it as my daily but if I can make on it I'll give it a go. Waiting on the guy that's selling it getting back to me. It's in doom blue but tidy enough.

A couple of the taxi drivers in town use petrol Scenics, probably more for their practicality and elderly-friendliness than inherent reliability, but they'd have been binned long ago if they were unreliable.

Check parking brake , clocks , windows for correct operation

The ones with petrol engines and enough pedals are fine aren't they? Its the diseasels and owt with a slushbox you need to avoid, pretty much like any other car. Look how much they go for on Autotrader and put int on Autotrader at that price or slightly less if you want a quick sale. Thats where 99% of people look for cars and thats where it will definately sell. Simple.

Done a bit more enquiries and its 72k its done with MOT until next August. Given this further information might get 850-900 given my research on autotrader.

I think as 'car people' we would give one a low value because we know about the potential problems they may cause.

 

I would say that car in nice condition would easily make 4 figures. They are very popular.

 

Mine is the phase 2 mk1 on an 02 reg 1.9Dci and it's been absolutely fine and caused me no issues at all and it does have a hard life
